> 3 daythe tl;dr is: Read the review by Wait, commenting on how this device appears in Windows 10 (N number of USB hubs, 4 ports each) and thats exactly how it looks. Great quality product, but ports beyond 8 YMMV. Review: I struggled for a long time with USB device management on my laptop + USB MIDI gear (controllers, IK Uno, Streichfett), and inconsistent device allocation which would make MIDI mapping via devices in Ableton Live! (10 at the time) a chore. However, a newer laptop (XPS 2019 model) and this hub (purchased in 2020) solved 99% of my problems. The remaining gotchya is this: If you prioritize your gear to be on the LOWER # of ports (1-8 works for me), youll seem to get consistent performance (never any hiccups, latency, or disconnects of gear in the middle of your music session). If you plug anything into the higher ports, you may encounter the same things I do: Gear will randomly stop working and only work once youve fully disconnected and reconnected the USB cable at the hub (not the device!) - it may work awhile longer, but then have the same issue later. This problem is WORSE if you run the hub off of something like a usb c PD hub/dock. Directly connect it to an available 3.0+ port. So while 10+ ports is nice, you shouldnt put any flash drives, hard drives, or gear that needs to be constantly connected for hours at a time (MIDI gear/instruments etc).. which doesnt leave a lot of options for ports 9-16 on my unit. I still use it because its the best option for me, but I think Im going to try using two 8 port USB hubs, 1 connected to each of the available USB ports on my XPS laptop. I hope that resolves 100% of my connectivity issues, but Im skeptical.

11-06-2025High quanltity material, easy to use, only thing missing was the USBC adapter. Still 5 stars would buy again from this company and this strip. I use to to power all the devices I ahve for flight simulator.the only thing I would ask for is a little clip hole on the top so I can hang it from a hook. I used one of those 3M and just stuck it to top that way i can hang it from the top.

> 3 dayThe little blue LEDS next to each button have started to burn out after 6 months. Not a big deal, but its nice to be able to see which switches are on.

> 3 dayI bought this hub to duplicate a bunch of flash drives. When it first arrived, everything fired up just fine, after I started my copy job I left it unattended for a few hours. On return, the hub had gotten so hot that the USB drives were disconnecting and reconnecting constantly within Windows. The hub was hot enough you couldnt hold it and I was concerned it would damage the finish on my desk. I exchanged it through Amazon - The new one is -less- hot, but is still very warm during use. I am only comfortable leaving it to copy with a small desktop fan keeping it cool the entire time. This is only an issue when using 7+ of the ports at the same time. On the plus side, it is very fast and the case is a solid metal construction.

> 3 dayI don’t recall the other brand I’ve bought, but I’ve broken the tabs inside where the usb plug goes on those. This one has a metal case, sturdier usb connections, switches that feel higher end… You pay a bit more, but it’s going to last. This is the second I’ve bought after giving up on the cheaper plastic versions.

> 3 dayI purchased a 10 port AmazonBasic hub. I normally love AmazonBasic brand. Its good quality, it works, and never have any problems with it. But...the 10port hub was horrible. It would recognize by MacBook pro half the time. I would have to plug it into one port then into another. It had three charging ports and those were the only ones that worked. I decided to try this hub. Its AWESOME. Plus, I love how you can turn on and off the ports that are in use and when not in use. I have a Stream Deck I use with Adobe Character Animator. I only use it a couple of times a month and here I can press a button and save the energy. Love it!

> 3 dayThis usb hub seems to be working very well. I bought a different one that ran VERY hot and had to return it. So far this hub is cool to the touch, the buttons work well and the only extremely minor criticism is that the lights indicating that the port is active are quite small but visible. Would buy again.

11-06-2025I seldom take chances on devices like these. Mainly because some are poorly made , good concept but they fail because they use cheap parts to mass produce. This device! well built! durable cables! very thick. Good quality , I would most certainly buy this unit again or a larger version of it. Recommend to all ETechs and IT folk in the field.

Greater than one weekWhen I opened the package that contained this hub, I was happily surprised at how well-made it is. The aluminum finish is, in my opinion, handsome. And I love the easy accessibility of the on-off buttons for each USB port. At one point, I had to contact the seller to ask a question. I got a quick and useful response. But even more importantly, the hub works great – right out of the box. I highly recommend it.

> 3 dayI originally purchased the hub a couple of years ago but did not use it at that time. I just left it in the original box and come with. In setting up a new computer a few weeks ago I took it out and used it to connect all of my USB devices. The USB 3 to standard USB connector that came with it was, however, too short for the way I was setting up my desk. When, however, I unplugged the USB 3 connector the plastic inside crumbled immediately. Needless to say, this makes the entire thing useless and unusable. Over the last two or three decades I cannot recall a single instance in which the plastic inside of a USB connector crumbled the way this one did. I can only conclude that it must have been made with very cheap if not outright defective materials in the first place. The bottom line is that the 40 bucks or so I spent on this thing were entirely wasted. I will order a another USB hub to replace it, but certainly not this one from this manufacturer.
