> 3 dayRecently just purchased this pump spy PSO1000 outlet and overall its a great product. The only complaint I have with this device is how the loss of AC power alert is engineered. I have a line interactive UPS unit attached to the router and modem and even when I have outages I dont lose network connectivity. I first tested it with turning the breaker that feeds the sump off and it sent an alert right away that I lost power (router/modem still has AC power). After turning it back on, within a couple minutes it reconnected and sent me a power restored alert. All good it seemed. The problem is when your entire house loses power. I turned the main breaker off to simulate an outage where it would kick on UPS to the router/modem and remove power to the sump. In this scenario (which is 99% of all power outage scenarios) the unit never sent the alert I lost power even though the router and modem didnt lose power. This means one of two things. Either my unit is somewhat defective or the unit wasnt properly engineered from the get-go. All line interactive UPS experience a few cycles of outage before switching over to battery power during a power outage. This outage duration isnt enough time for the human eye to even see but enough to prevent the outage alert to be sent through alerting the user of a critical event affecting the sump operation. The unit should have been designed to ride through a momentary outage for at least a few seconds....capacitor anyone?) This would allow users to utilize the cheaper UPS units on the modem/router setup. One work around for this limitation is to get a double conversion UPS unit (about $365) that would prevent the network equipment from seeing a momentary disruption and allow the Pump spy to send its alert since it dies as soon as AC is lost. Aside from that , this unit does provide some sort of peace of mind. It is easy to use and I really like being able to see how many times the pump operated. The install was super easy and setup with the network was pretty straightforward. For the money, there really isnt a better option out there that has all these features. If the company would improve their product and add that cheap capacitor to allow it to self power the electronics for a few seconds, I would have easily paid another $20 for the unit and given a 5 star review . (I would be happy to trial it)

> 3 dayTried posting review under the 2.0 product listing but Amazon is limiting reviews to verified purchasers. I bought this device January 2022 and could never get it to connect with WiFi. Pumpspy support was unable to resolve issue, suggesting everything I had already tried. I returned the device through Amazon. PumpSpy said they had an updated device under development and would send me one under the beta test program when available. Well they finally sent one February 2023. It worked right out of the box, connected first try. I installed it in my crawl space and its been working flawlessly since. I have an Eero mesh wifi system and have it connected to the guest network like all my IOT devices. Couple minor issues - one is the anchor screw only works with standard outlet. My outlet is GFCI so would not work. I zip tied it to the outlet box since its mounted face down from floor joists. Two is the app has an estimated gallons count but theres no way to customize it to your pump, it just assumes one gallon per second of operation.

> 3 daySetup in 5 minutes per directions. Will send direct phone notifications and sms. Only thing negative is it must use 2.4 ghz wifi (not compatible with 5.1 ghz) however 2.4 ghz works better at longer distances and through walls or across floors. Wifi signal is strong even though my router is on 1st floor and unit placed in basement. Monitors power, high water level float sensor, sump cycles and time sump on per day, and even estimates gallons pumped out per cycle and total per day. Can monitor multiple pumpspy sensors at multiple locations as well. Running app on android. 3 years later the unit has been solid. For example today halfway through tropical storm Ida, weve pumped out 700 gallons so far, with the main sump running every 8 seconds (thanks Pumpspy)! Note I would still recommend a hydrostatic backup sump pump (requires no power). During a prior storm with flooding we lost power. Pumpspy notified me immediately. Power was down for 8 hours, and the hydrostatic pump saved us.

> 3 dayThis is a great product for monitoring sump pumps and for warning when there is a problem. What really stands out is their wonderful support (see later). I am away from my house for long periods of time and was looking for some reassurance about the operation of the sump pump in the basement, knowing that failure of the sump pump and a battery backup would cause significant damage to the basement. The PumpSpy arrived on time and was installed relatively quickly. I just followed the instructions and found no difficulties. Note that you will need a reasonably good wifi signal where the PumpSyp will be located. I did check the wifi in the basement beforehand using the app Wifi Analyser, and found the reception was pretty weak in the corner where the sump pump is located. Consequently I also ordered the T-Link N-300 wifi extender in addition to the PumpSpy and placed the extender between the wifi router and the PumpSpy. This arrangement has worked well. PumpSpy is setup to notify you via email and text messages of any problems, while the PumpSpy app can be used to examine data associated with the operation of the sump pump. The PumpSpy and app worked perfectly for about a month and then there appeared to be an update to the app and I could no longer access the data, with the app continually crashing. On a Saturday afternoon I emailed tech support and much to my surprise I received a response within a few minutes! I followed the instructions in the email and the app promptly started working again. If you do have issues with the (Android) app continually crashing then these are the instructions I received from PumpSpy tech support: Here are the steps you can take to resolve an issue with the Android app on your smart device. 1. Go to Settings on your phone 2. In Settings, select Apps and notifications (Note: some models might only say apps or application or application manager 3. Select App Info 4. Scroll down to the PumpSpy app and select it. 5. Click on Storage 6. Select Clear Storage (Some models say Clear App Data or a something similar. 7. You will be asked to confirm the deletion of app data - select OK. 8. Reopen the PumpSpy app. Overall, I am very happy with the product and the response from PumpSpy tech support has been outstanding.

> 3 dayDoes exactly what it says it will do, but check it periodically to make sure your phone is still connected. Sometimes if your phone updates you’ll need to sign in to the app again. Had trouble reconnecting so I did a chat session with customer support. They were so helpful and we troubleshooted until we figured it out. It was an error on my part. They told me they would stay on with me until we figured it out! I definitely recommend Pump Spy.

> 3 dayI love the functionality of this and, when it works, its great. The app was screwing up recently and tech support let me know it wasnt me and they were working on it. Thats all fine now. BUT, I keep seeing that my sump pump has 3 second runs between the normal 20 second runs. Ive been seeing this for about 6 months. Happens once or twice a day. I put in a new sump pump and, to my shock, started getting the same 3 second run notices. Not possible that 2 pumps by different manufacturers are each having these short runs. The Tech support guy thinks its a fairly weak wifi signal ~ 60db thats causing this. I suppose Id need to add an extender to test that. Otherwise, great product!

> 3 dayAfter reading previous reviews I felt the exact frustration the other guys who work in IT experienced. Between the semi-confusing instructions and the delayed support getting the device up and running can be very tedious. So the actual physical install of the device was simple enough; plug it in, get the water detection device in thes sump well. Getting the device to hook into the network was another issue all together. Do yourself a favor and do this: First download the app and create your account and residence in the app; now close the app Next plug in the device (the light on the socket will be red) Connect your mobile device to the network that says Pump Spy, your device will tell you it cannot connect to the internet (thats fine, youre trying to get the device to connect to the Pumpspy servers). Open a internet browser on the device and go to the url 10.10.115.1/config/scan_page_outer.html Youll see a screen with wifi networks in your area, choose your wifi and put in your wifi passcode (make sure you get this right or youll regret it). After the wifi code has been inputted youll get a black screen, wait a bit and your light should go green. Go back to the pump spy app, settings, manually add device and put in the 15 digit identifier on the side of your device. After that youre all set. So far so good with the device. Good luck!

Greater than one weekAfter finishing our basement I wanted to ensure I could monitor my sump pump and be notified if it ever stopped working. After searching online I finally found Pump Spy, the price seemed a bit high but after I read into it all the features it had the price actually seems like a great value. I can now be notified if it ever stops working, can view how often the pump is running and how long the cycles are running. After receiving it I was able to get it up and running in under 20 minutes, I was able to setup text and email alerts to multiple contacts and test them out. It even notified me that the unit lost power when I unplugged it to move it to the basement (you can set it up at any outlet then move to the pump outlet after setup)! So far this thing is exactly what I wanted and more. The only downfall (and it isnt much of one) is I am also using the HyrdoCheck Hi-Lo Pump Control ( and with that plugged in it covers the status ring of the pump spy so having an addtional status indicator would be useful in this case. Also a combined HrydoCheck Hi-Lo Pump Control/PumpSpy unit would amazing!! https://www.amazon.com/HC6000-Hi-Lo-Controller-Float-Switch/dp/B006AU4L4U/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=HC6000-Hi-Lo-Controller-Float-Switch&qid=1580670045&sr=8-3

Greater than one weekI have four pump spy units. Until the last update was released they were great. Now the entire history of every unit is gone. It only shows what its doing just now, no longer showing how many times pump ran, etc. It is not longer useful to us at least without that history. Dont buy unless they put the history function back. Im looking for replacements for their units now. Very poor of them to not alert anyone about this major change and then just not answer support tickets related to it (I have asked them several times about it without any response.)

> 3 dayStill havent installed it yet. Doesnt install or get configured with Android phone. Tech support provides instructions for configuration with computer. Couldnt get it configured even with tech support on the line. They said to login to my router, and see if router is stopping configuration. Dont see anything there. Seems like it might be somewhat set up as would get random messages about losing connection at home But when I try to add a location, wants me to reinstall. App is very slow, buggy, and a pain. Pretty much have given up. Might make another attempt, still will probably have issues once installed in my crawlspace which is even farther away from my wireless router.
