> 24 hourI spent a lot of time reviewing pulley systems and eventually settled on this one because of the mostly positive reviews. I am using it to store a bicycle and am very pleased with the way it has worked out. Installation instructions were excellent. It is critical to find the beams in the ceiling to ensure a secure installation. I drilled pilot holes with a long 1/8” dril bit and used a socket wrench with a Phillips bit rather than a screwdriver to fasten the screws in the ceiling. This will reduce the likelihood of stripping the screw heads that some people complained about. The design of the hooks works perfectly for my particular bicycle, with one hook on the steering bar and one on the saddle. The locking mechanism has worked well.

> 24 hourGreat device for the price. Installation was easy once I installed a cross 2 x 4 on the garage ceiling perpendicular to the attic truss. Happy to have the bike off the floor and out of the way.

> 24 hourThis product works and is relatively easy to install. However, the supplied rope is garbage. It has many frays right out of the box, and, upon first use, looks like it could break at any time. It is some cheapo cotton worthlessness. Would you feel comfortable with that cheap stuff suspending a bike over your new Lexus? Its too bad these folks dont have the foresight to spend a few extra few cents and supply a real rope instead of making customers go out to buy one and then having to reinstall it. Shame on them.

> 24 hourInstallation was a breeze. Only takes about 15 minutes to put up, if that. The mechanisms are very smooth. I really like the versatility of hanging different size bikes with this product. One downfall...if you dont go directly into wood, then the screws arent long enough to go through 5/8 sheetrock and then into the stud. I would recommend getting longer screws or your bike might fall when lowering/raising as mine did. Not sure what everybody else is talking about with the ropes. Mine (I ordered 3 of these kits) were all in perfect shape and are not cheap...a substantive rope for the use.

> 24 hourworks as advertised, a little better perceived quality than the other value priced lifts on amazon. (I own both types) rope is nice, and all the hardware is good quality. Id recommend this strongly over the lower priced options, especially if you are planning to use it for lifting something besides a bike

> 24 hourEasy to install; works as advertised! I would use bolts instead of the wood screws, but then thats just me.

> 24 hourI ordered two of these racks for my garage. The first went in flawlessly, while with the second, I broke three of the included screws. Yes, I did pre-drill the holes for this using the prescribed 1/8 pilot hole. I did go up to a 9/64 on my last set to make sure I had sufficient hardware to complete the installation. Make sure you use the proper size philips head screwdriver to prevent the screws from stripping out. The remaining installation worked flawlessly, just be sure to read and understand the directions. Two minor modifications I would make to the instructions... First after completing the installation, add a knot to the rope after the locking mechanism. This prevents the weight of the pulleys from pulling the rope out of the locking mechanism when there is no bike on the hooks. Second, I would highly recommend hanging the bike upside down rather than by the seat and handlebars. I find the hooks held onto the rims better, and I feel that Ive got better control over the bike as it goes up and down. Overall, you cant beat the price here, and these have really saved me some space in the garage.
