Greater than one weekThis bike lift is relatively simple to install but the installation instructions could be clearer. Once installed it works smoothly and easily and meets all of my expectations.

> 3 dayIt is definitely a space saver. Simple installation and works well, even on my 12-foot ceiling. I encountered two drawbacks which could have been better. I bought two hoists and both cords had frayed spots which indicates to me some manufacturing defect. The other issue I had was the quality of the screw heads...they were too soft. When screwing them into the joist gets tough, the plus sign slot on the philips screw head would get damaged. Two got damages bad enough that I had to unscrew and throw them out. Thankfully the package came with 2 extra screws.

> 3 dayWorks like a charm. Measure twice, drill once. Holds my bicycles up in my garage cathedral ceiling no problemo. Will likely purchase more to store camping supplies, too!

> 3 dayProduct was just what I expected. The only thing I would add would be a request that the instructions include a picture of the final step in threading the rope through the last pulley apparatus: It would be nice to have a more detailed, LARGER image. The image in the instructions requires a magnifying glass to make out the details, and then it is not drawn well enough to show exactly how the rope is threaded through the locking mechanism. Trial and error is not the best way to figure these sorts of things out - especially since a bad interpretation can end up with a serious bonk on the noggin.

> 3 dayGood product but hard for children to lift. Bought for 8 year olds bike & I have to assist him. Maybe another pulley can be added somehow to ease the weight.

> 3 dayWas wondering about this product s quality from some of the reviews but am glad I bought it! It it well made, installed easily (directions actually made sense!), and it works great. Contrary to other reports it lifts and drops very smoothly, just pull the rope far enough to disengage the lock. The srews are heavy and I had no problems with them although I did pre-drill the holes. The only issue I anticipate is replacing the rope because the final hole it passes through is not beveled, so it will fray over time. Seems like it would be pretty easy to roll the edge.... but hey, its $16!

> 3 dayGreat idea, fairly easy to install, but by all means replace the screws they send. They will twist off in the anchors.

> 3 dayIm a single mom and, overall, ended up buying about five of these so I could store all of our bikes during the winter. If you can use a tape measure, screwdriver, and can confidently locate the studs in your ceiling, you can put these up yourself. They worked great for storing our bikes through the winter and I could even heist them up high enough that I could park the front end of the car underneath. They are a bit inconvenient, however, for using every day. The pull strings have to be kept at the longest length for proper reach and pulley action, and so can be tedious for winding up. Bikes need to be secured appropriately before heisting and so younger kids may not be able to use them confidently - I had one bike fall off mid heist because my kid didnt have the hooks underneath the seat securely.

> 3 dayI just installed TWO of these bike lifts this afternoon. Its a great concept and works well, but it should not be up to the consumer to correct the quality issues as sold by the manufacturer. In short: the worlds softest, crappiest screws are included in the box for installation. It was all too easy to strip the the screw heads when installing and one actually sheared itself in half when about halfway in. Yikes. Luckily I had some very high strength SPAX wood screws on hand (each good for 400lbs) that were easily used in place of the those provided. Without the poor screws I would rate this Bike Lift 4 or 5 stars but if I have to supply my own parts and move a lift to a different location because theres already a broken screw in the desired truss Im knocking it waaaay down---particularly because quality screws are available so inexpensively. I would recommend this product as long you provide your own screws.

> 3 dayAn awesome space saving product. When purchasing, keep in mind the height bike will be off the floor so your car can pass underneath.
