> 3 dayWe have some vintage schwinn beach cruisers living near the coast we are tight for space in our home. Leaving bikes outside means fast oxidation because of the salt in the air. We had them in our living room and it was either they went or me with my wife. I got two of these from Amazon and it saved my marriage and me having to move out as well. The studs in my ceiling were running the wrong way for where I could hang the bikes. So I mounted the Racor mounts to a 1 x 12 x 5 piece of wood. Then mounted that wood to the ceiling. It allowed me to position the bikes exactly where I needed them to hang from and ensure that I hit wood studs in ceiling for very strong support as these classic schwinns were 50lbs each. In addition to the lock as part of the mount a cleat is provided (which resembles a boat dock type of cleat) as a safeguard to keep the bikes from falling in case the first lock fails. This kit is well made, has good documentation, and a easy to install. Took me 30 minutes to complete each because of the wood I had to add for my application.

> 3 dayAfter installing the Racor Heavy lift system, I then knew what I was in for. My studs did not line up with the mounting brackets so I needed to mount on a 2 x 4 and then mount the 2 x 4 into the studs. Get larger lag bolts for this along with washers. Once installed it works great.

Greater than one weekBought this to use on a recumbent bike. I could easily pull up by hand, but the wife...not so much. Attached to a winch on the floor and its great. Pulls it right up to the garage ceiling like a charm. Easy installation and carries the load of the recumbent without a problem.

> 3 dayI needed a way to lift my kiln lid when its 1500 deg . This is perfect! The metal clips fit the handles of the lid and I can take them off when not in use. I just pull the cord and tie it off, works perfect.

> 3 dayThese work well, the rope is more than big enough to hold any bike that I might have. I wish I had bought a few more at the price I got them at.

> 3 dayI purchased two of these because I was sick of my husband complaining of the bikes taking up too much room in the garage. It took us about an hour to hang them both up(plus hoist the bikes) once we got out the tools and figured out where to hang them. Yes, the screws arent of the highest quality, we did strip one and used another similar we found in the garage. But that is the only negative we had. In fact I am ordering at least one more bike rack, possibly a fourth, so ALL the bikes will be off the floor whe not in use. Great product. 12/10....ordered 2 more of these for a total of four(4), LOVE THEM! Showed visiting members of my family and they thought they were great too. Gave them all the info for ordering as well.

> 3 dayI saw this bike lift on Ask This Old House and if Tom Silva used it, I thought it had to be good. I bought two for our two mountain bikes and they work like a charm, and they were easy to install. Supplied screws were fine--they didnt strip or bend, but I did drill pilot holes. Rope seems a bit wimpy, but it can be easily replaced if it frays. I did secure the hooks to the bikes front and rear with bungee cords. Didnt want the bikes to slip off in a minor earthquake. If theres a serious quake the bikes will be the least of our problems. These lifts do what theyre supposed to do. I expect that theyll last as long as I will, and are certainly worth the price.
