> 24 hourSome times its all about timing. I purchased these from Amazon after looking at some in local bike shop because the price was incredibly low. These bike lifts are great. They free up valuable space in our garage. They can be tricky to install if you install directly into ceiling studs. Some other people I talked to installed 2x4s first and then installed the bike lifts into the 2x4s. Also some people complain about the rope that comes with the kit, but its fine. The rope is durable and long enough.

> 24 hourThis was a great item to use b/c it freed up floor space. I bought four of them and have all 4 bikes hanging from my 12 foot garage ceiling. The clearance is 6.8 (Six point eight) feet below the tires and its very easy to lower/raise them. Its like I dont have bikes even in the garage unless I look up. Option: 1. Screw a piece of 2 by 4 wood (approx. 45 inches long) to ceiling josh for pulley support/stability (use long screws not included). 2. Screw the bike pulleys to the 2 by 4 for easy mounting and sturdiness. This will work for any bike.

> 24 hourThis is a great product and idea. The brackets seem very strong and the product worked perfectly as advertised. That said, the rope that accompanies the product is either too cheap or not the correct type for the products design. If you only plan to lift the bike up to the ceiling once a year, then you will probably be fine with the rope that comes with the product. However, daily or even weekly use will likely burn through the rope quickly. After lifting my bike one time, I noted a fray in the rope--I believe it occurred where the locking mechanism locked onto the rope. I intend to find a more durable rope/cable very soon. No five-star rating because of the rope.

> 24 hourLifts are easy to use on 12ft ceiling. Only complaint is the wall cleat is not big enough for all the rope provided, and you need all the rope provided.

> 24 hourEasy to install; works as advertised! I would use bolts instead of the wood screws, but then thats just me.

> 24 hourHave high ceilings in garage so read the reviews and as usual amazon team is right on. Easy to install very basic design but but works just fine. Buying another one for last bike!

> 24 hourI was concerned after reading all the comments about the quality of the rope included, so I was already prepared to make a trip to the hardware store upon arrival of the lifts...but found the included rope was just fine. After hoisting them up (I bought 2..and I have a VERY tall garage ceiling, so I needed to keep the entire length of the ropes) I found it was a pain to wrap ALL that rope onto the single cleats. To counter this issue, I plan to purchase an additional cleat for each lift and mount them ~2 lower than the included cleats so I can wrap between the 2 cleats...thus using up ~ 2 of rope on each wrap...making it much more likely I will actually take my bikes down to ride them!
