SAMSUNG 850 EVO 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E500B/AM)

Fast drive at an excellent price. It replaced a Crucial M4 that failed just after the warranty expired. Lets see how this one hold up.. This drive appears to be faster then the M4. I will update this review as time goes on, if you dont see any further comments you can assume its still working!

One of the best SSDs I have ever owned. FAST, reliable, easy to setup and install. IF you have not yet upgraded from a mechanical to a solid state then you dont know what you are missing. The only issue I have is with Samsungs software (Magician). Worked great once and then locked up my machine on every boot. Had to hack the registry to get it out of my bootup and then everything was fine.

I replaced the Hard Disk Drive to this SSD on my Mac book Pro 2012 later version. The Mac boots up in 20-25 seconds now and response rate when I open an app. Amazing speed. Before this , It used to take 3-4 minutes to boot. I had issues in transferring the data to the SSD from my Mac and then installing Mac OS X. It used to give me error everytime (Tried it 2-3 times). I did it the other way. Formatted the dist, partitioned it, installed the OS X and then transferred the data. It went just fine. Need to check reliability of the SSD in course of time. Giving 5 star owing to speed of booting up and the response rate.

Swapped my HHD for this SSD and it makes a huge difference in speed. It makes boot time from 30 seconds to a mere 8 seconds. Loading up programs and app is faster than ever. Highly recommend getting this if you dont want to deal with slower loading and boot time.

My macbook pro mid-2012 is so much faster with this thing installed. Ive had 8gb ram with 750gb hard drive but it started to slow me down a lot. Rather than buying a new mac with SSD, this was my solution. I also increased to a 16gb ram from an 8gb. I absolutely love it.

In one word, I would say it as the best drive in the market.

I have now had this SSD installed for a few weeks now. I could not be any happier with this upgrade. Load times are just non existent with this device. If you were looking for a way to speed up your machine at a relatively low cost. This is it. I wish I knew about SSDs sooner.

The shipment arrived December 24th a few days before promised and in good condition even during the Christmas rush. A tech person installed it for me without incident and transferred data from an old worn out hard drive in my nearly 5 year old Dell XPS desk top with an i7 CPU and 12 GB of RAM. Prior to the new hard drive it took my system about 15 minutes on boot up before I could use it. The old hard drive would function but not very well. Now it is ready to use in about 2 minutes. The tech person completely cleaned up my computer in addition and its like I have a new computer. He estimates I should get another 3 years out of this system. This solid state hard drive is very fast and a good value.

Perfect replacement for that old hard drive. Funny, Best Buy Geek Squad said they did not think it would work so I did it myself. Got spoiled with the 10 second boot and 5 second shut down of my laptop so converted my desktop with this solid state drive and WOW - blistering fast. Amazing transformation.
