This is a good solid state drive! Works great, plugged it into my desktop. Start up time on computer was about 3 seconds, with windows 7 installed on it.

Came fast and nicely packed. Works great. Highly recommended to everyone who has an old MAC. My 2012 15 Macbook Pro goes just as fast as the ones that are 2015. No complicated formatting was necessary. Started just as any other hard drive. Used Disk Utility on it first, then Online System recovery. P.S. Just upgraded the RAM to 8GB just used the ram from my old HP computer. Amazing power boost up for under 300 USD. Good Luck to everyone.

2nd solid state drive (SSD) unit I have purchased for work to replace rotating drives. We used Linux -ddrescue to clone the original rotating drive to the SSD. Had to reboot the system a few times with the new drive to get them the PC and SSD to like each other. This unit works great and the speed is amazing. The price and delivery are great too.

Very easy to migrate software and install. Took 4-5 hours for 250 gigs of data migration. Does not come with Sata connector, but these are cheap. Computer starts up in about 10 seconds, turns off in less than 10 seconds. Superfast processing. Ill start looking into converting my super slow macbook to an SSD.

Installed this in my Dell XPS 8900 from the old 3.5 HDD. This is a desktop and laptop drive. Im not getting the speeds it stated of 540/520. But its faster than the Crucial MX200 whereas youll be paying $100 more for the Crucial brand for the same size. My graphics do look better using this drive. Colors are deeper, etc.

It was the best SSD in its moment, and its still current. Of course latter versions are better.

Buying this ssd was like buyin a new pc. A fresh installation of Windows 10 boots in about 5 seconds. And after been using it for 2 months now, it takes like 7 seconds to boot up. Highly recommended.

The Samsung 850 EVO has been my first experience using an SSD and I couldnt be happier with it. Coming from an admittedly fast mechanical drive, the WD Black, this SSD has shown a remarkable speed improvement in boot time, application launching, and file transfers. In addition to Windows, I also load my commonly played games on the EVO and notice my machine beating other users in loading game levels. I cannot comment on the included Samsung software as I had no use for their file migration tool.

I have 3 of these drives that I have purchased over the years, the price to performance is really a great value. I run my OS on one of these and several software development virtual machines with an external USB 3.0 enclosure on another. I have tested the performance at 400+ MB/s (sequential) with CrystalDiskMark. Anecdotally, I have a friend who is very proud of his high-end SSDs that he paid double for. We were both compiling a fairly large software project at the same time, and mine compiled about 25% faster than his. His machine specs are otherwise faster than mine, so I suspect it came down to I/O. Great drive, great value.

Easy setup and fast super performance. Windows start, shutdown and programs run at great speed. Makes PC very quite. I have another system with EVO 1TB and its been reliable with zero issues after 1 year of usage.
