Greater than one weekThis is by far the best drive in its class. I am using it in my Gaming laptop and it works wonders, boot times are less than 20 seconds from button press of the power button to being into windows and able to start doing gaming or going on the web. The software is also decent at keeping track of the health of the SSD and can make it so that it performs slightly better.

> 3 dayThis thing is amazing. My laptop runs almost as good as my custom built gaming desktop. I will say, once the SSD was in, I had to upgrade to 16GB of RAM, since that was the new bottleneck. My advice to anyone considering this, go ahead and upgrade both at the same time if you can.

Sam,
> 3 dayI bought this SSD in July, and it worked fine for 3 months before my PC start crashing and bootlooping. Three Windows installations, hundreds of bluescreens, and countless hours of diagnostics later, I decided to send it in for a warranty repair. This is where the headache gets worse: The model sold to me by EOM Distributors was a European one. Ive spent the better half of the past two weeks talking to Samsung reps (remember, around Christmas time), and they referred me to Samsung Europe. The SSD department is in the Netherlands and they dont have live chat setup, so good luck talking to them live. Samsung Europe told me that in order to warranty repair this device, I would have to pay the shipping BOTH ways. According to UPS, thatll cost me over $200! So basically, Im left with a broken computer (and SSD) with no one to call to. I persoanlly believe that EOM Distributors LIED to me when they sold this model under the American model name (B/AM). I will try to get in contact with them shortly about all this. Bottom line, do not buy from EOM Distributors unless you want NO warranty overeager if youre not a European! ----------------------------------- Same day edit: I talked to Amazon customer service and they refunded me the full amount. Thank you Amazon! This review will stay up however.

Greater than one weekGreat drive. This is my second 500GB SSD in my primary computer. The first is the 840 EVO 500GB. Its quiet, fast, and reliable; once you try one, those noisy, slow platter drives will make you crazy. I have 850EVO as a primary and the other a clone, for emergency use. 500GB is a good size for a tower, unless you store a boatload of videos on your C: drive. I store videos on a 1TB platter drive. Also, I have recently put two 250GB drives in a 4 year old Dell i7 Inspiron with 8GB RAM resulting in a 22 second boot. The tower is older and boots under a minute.

> 3 daySetup was a billion times better than the Crucial MX100 that my laptop still cannot boot from. This EVO worked on the first try. I hate the way you can lose faith in technology because you made a bad purchase and you didnt realize it was the device, not the idea. Then Samsung comes along and restores my faith in engineering over marketing. Ive had Samsung phones, tablets, printers, VCRs and TVs and have never had a problem with any of them. Buy Korean!

Greater than one weekFlawless performance, fast and reliable. No issues with install. Probably the most notable increase in my computers performance since 4 core CPUs.

> 3 dayBought this for my 2009 MacBook Pro and I love it. Super easy to install, used Carbon Copy to copy over my old hard drive to this SSD. No problems at all, booted straight from the SSD. Now I can squeeze out a few more years from my aging MacBook Pro. Well worth it!

> 3 dayInstalled this in my PS4 for playing FFXIV. Cut my load times in half for massive populated zones. Install was super easy. considering buying another for my main PC.

> 3 dayI resisted buying a SSD for a long time, griping about the storage to dollar ratio compared to conventional hard drives. What a big mistake. This little guy made my computer feel faster than when I upgraded from a dual core to a quad core. Loading times for games are dramatically reduced and install times are a fraction of what they were. File reading and writing isnt even funny. Every system should use this for the boot disk, unless you like the read/write equivalent of dial-up.
