> 3 dayMy WEI used to be 5.9 before installing this SSD 500GB. Back when I bought my Alienware Aurora R4 4 years ago, Dell wanted $400 for a 250GB SSD, and I didnt want to pay that. Now, the SSDs are twice the storage for less than half the money! Yay! Installation was tough for a hard drive. It came with instructions, but I had no clue what it was talking about, so I just followed online general instructions and everything worked like it says. I first had to put the SSD on its mount, which wasnt easy because the screws are so small, they kept falling off. But eventually I got it in there. I moved my old hard drive over, then installed Windows 7. (Dell was selling Windows 8 at the time I purchased my computer, but I made them put in Windows 7 instead). At some point, I had to convert MBR partition to GPT. Then, the reinstallation disk keeps rebooting from DVD, and I had to take the DVD out during the installation rebooting so that it doesnt do that. But eventually, Windows got installed, and the computer is starting so fast now! Whats more, my Windows Experience Index is 7.8 out of 7.9! My Alienware is my dream computer. It looks like a space ship, and now it runs like one! (I know the WEI is outdated, but Ive always wanted a high score anyway!)

> 3 dayI bought this hard drive and used it to resurrect my 2010 Mac Book Pro and it worked well for well over a year. But one day after an update the computer did not work anymore. For some reason, the hard drive does not work properly. I tried everything to recover it but was not able to. The funny thing is that it seems to work as an external hard drive (although have not used it extensively as an external hard drive and there is a good chance it might die out even as an external hard drive). But it does not work when I install it in my Mac Book pro anymore.

> 3 day1. The reason for the SSD upgrade was when I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, I was running out of space on my Drive C. I had no problems with the Win10 upgrade. 2. I bought the Samsung drive specifically because it came with software (Samsung Magician) to clone drive C from a running computer to an external Samsung drive. I successfully ran the software to copy from my internal C Drive to an external USB box with the 500G Samsung SSD. I waited until Magician said it was done (this was several minutes after it said the copy was 100% complete.) 3. The Problem: 4. I swapped the SSDs. When I restarted with the new Samsung SSD installed, I got the Windows 0xC000000E error. (Boot loader error). Message appears on a Recovery screen—Your PC needs to be repaired. A required device isn’t connected or can’t be accessed. Error code: 0xc000000e “You’ll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. Press Enter to try again Press F8 for Startup Settings” I don’t have a Windows 10 install disk. 5. I unswapped the SSDs. I got the same error. (0xC000000E). 6. On restart, I pressed F8 to start in safe mode. No help. Same error message (0xC000000E). 7. On restart, I pressed F12 and needed to tell the system which drive to start from. Starting from the old SSD, I was able to boot my system up. (I’m typing on it now.) 8. On restart without F12, I get the same error (0xC000000E). 9. On restart with F12 and the new SSD I get the Windows Boot Manager window. After ~two minutes this times out and then gives me 0xC000000E. --- I will update this review as I work to resolve the problem--EVEN IF it means taking it to the GeekSquad.

> 3 daySo far so good. Had 3 500gb HDDs on my gaming desktop. Added this as number 4. Cloning software transferred everything from my main hard drive easily without any hassle. Gotta say, very flawless, simple, and this SSD is blazing fast!

> 3 dayDisclaimer: I have not done any kind of benchmark tests, so my observations of the speed of this drive are only how fast it seems or feels, not hard data. That being said, I went from an Intel SSD to this Samsung. I didnt switch brands for any particular reason other than the good reviews this drive had, and the price per GB. I have observed no noticeable difference in speed between this Samsung and my old

Greater than one weekMuch faster, quieter and cooler than my HDD, easy to install with the help of Samsungs instructions and disc. Would recommend to family and friends.

> 3 dayI love the speed of my computer now. I installed this in a 2 year old Dell XPS desktop running Windows 8.1 and boot time went from minutes to less than 10 seconds. I should have done it a long time ago but was intimidated. It turned out to be a relatively easy install for me with the supplied software.

Greater than one week5 stars for the drive, 4.5 stars for Amazon service. Did not receive game code as advertised. However, the Amazon staff was helpful. They gave me a valid game code the same day after making the inquiry. Minus 0.5 stars for having to spend time making the inquiry. The hard drive itself is excellent. Recognized right away on new computer built. Installed windows no problem. Boots to windows in 10 seconds. Paid 140$ for 500GB with Assassins Creed game.
