SAMSUNG 850 EVO 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E500B/AM)

These ssd are fast ass hell. Been using it for a month and no signs of problems. I only use it as a boot drive with some programs installed. 300 out of 496gb left , still loads Windows 10 in 14 seconds .

Again, This is the 3rd or 4th Samsung SSD I have bought from Amazon. All came in the 2-day prime period and each one has worked perfectly out-of-the-box. In my opinion Samsung is one of the best brands around/ I have used a 500GIG on my Desktop and two 250 GIGS on two ACER netbooks. All have worked perfectly. The speed increase is not short of amazing on boot-up. The ACERS were Win 7 Machines. They are Aspire V-5 models. One was a bit newer than the other. (A bit more original memory and a slightly faster processor.) Both have 11 inch screens. I think the best thing you can do with a computer that has older style HHDs is to replace with a new SSD. They are still a bit pricy. However, on you have made the switch, you will never want to go back. Final thoughts. I havent notice any significant difference between the older 420 and the newer 850. Both will definitely do the job. Finally-- be sure and disable defrag on Windows and any third-party programs. Its not needed. Enabling it can significantly shorten the life of your drives.

This SSD was pretty simple to install and has worked great so far. Fast as a SSD should be and hopefully its reliable. The package did not come with screws as I needed four screws to mount this thing to a slot in my desktop, good thing I had some laying around. The package did come with an installation disk, which is not necessary.

This went into a new build of a small form factor PC. It has been running reliably for about a year now. These solid state drive are wondrous. No sound and fast fast boot up. Super fast boot up. And everything else loads super fast too. Future builds will use an M2 SSD instead of SATA III. But for that computer. Wow.

I bought this drive and installed it in my 8 year old laptop. Installation was easy and the software to transfer data to the drive worked perfectly. The improvement in boot time on the laptop was noticeable immediately.

What a difference in speed and productivity this item has made. My MACBOOK PRO mid 2012 was freezing and apps didnt load for several minutes and I decided to investigate what the possible problems could be. I found many others had the same problem and a solution was this

Installed in Toshiba S875D Laptop. Boot time is reduced to less than 30 seconds including all of the startup apps. Cloning software worked just as it should. I am keeping the Toshiba 750GB HDD that I removed as a exchangeable backup.

I am giving this product 2 stars, because I wanted it for the Samsung Magician Rapid Mode feature, which uses some of your RAM to greatly increases the speed of the drive.. Unfortunately, the Samsung Magician software isnt officially supported under Windows 10 and Rapid mode cant be enabled for 850 drives.(there is a work around for the 840 series) I cant believe that this hasnt been fixed yet. Many of us who installed the preview versions of Windows 10 knew this way before the Windows launch and it has been reported to Samsung by countless numbers of people. I think this is a real black mark against Samsung that they dont support their flagship SSD and I would not buy another 850 until this is fixed..

Software this drive ships with makes conversion to SSD a breeze. Resized my 1 TB win 7 install down to 400 GB within Windows. Cloned windows partition and recovery partition to this SSD. Swap drives, boot - BAM. Easy.

Installed this myself in our daughters MacBook Pro at the advice of Apple Genius Bar. Apple would only put in a conventional disc drive which had already failed twice. Not hard at all and there are plenty of YouTube videos to guide you. It is working great
