> 3 dayGave new life to my old 2009 macbook pro. Startup and opening files has to be around 3xs faster now. This plus 8gb of ram have allowed my old computer to keep up with the times. Rarely do I see a beach ball.

> 3 dayThis is probably the best SSD on the market today in terms of price vs. performance. The performance tops any SSD Ive ever owned. Only problem I had was with the installation/data migration software because it created (without asking) a 100MB System Reserved Partition in Windows 8.1 that was nearly impossible to update to Windows 10 because it was 99% full and couldnt easily be modified or relocated. I had to use third-party partitioning tools to enlarge the partition so that the Windows 10 installer would run to completion. Subtract one star for the migration/installation software, but nothing to complain about on the hardware side. Recommended as long as you avoid the Samsung SSD installation software.

Greater than one weekSwapped my HHD for this SSD and it makes a huge difference in speed. It makes boot time from 30 seconds to a mere 8 seconds. Loading up programs and app is faster than ever. Highly recommend getting this if you dont want to deal with slower loading and boot time.

> 3 dayFor some reason only Samsung knows why this drive is really picky about external enclosures. An internet search will reveal lots of people asking the question why cant my pc or mac see my samsung 850 evo? After failing to access this drive to format it on Windows, OS X and Linux in two different enclosures, I found a post that mentioned a firmware bug. Apparently these work fine when connected directly to a motherboard via a Sata connector or using a sata to USB adapter cable (amazon sells these) but not with whatever chipsets are in most USB enclosures. My old Xbox 360 hard drive USB transfer cable worked (unfortunately at USB 2.0 speeds) when nothing else would. I even returned my first 850 evo before I discovered this because I thought it was a dud. Samsung should include an adapter cable in the box if they are going to sell these crippled drives. In the meantime be sure to pick up a sata to USB adapter if you want to try your luck on swapping one these into your laptop. Youve been warned.

> 3 dayAmazing! I have a 2011 Macbook pro that needed some life put back into it and now i feel like i have a brand new laptop! THIS THING IS FAST! A great price. Be aware that the clone software included does not work with Mac but there is plenty of free options out there with a simple google search.

> 3 dayThis is a Christmas gift, so I cant review the product yet. However, I purchased the 840 EVO two years ago for myself and it has performed very well. This is why I chose this unit.
