SAMSUNG (MZ-V7E500BW) 970 EVO SSD 500GB - M.2 NVMe Interface Internal Solid State Drive with V-NAND Technology, Black/Red

More expensive than QLC NVME M.2 drives, for sure. Worth it? Maybe.

My HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop’s 250GB M.2 SATA SSD Drive was filling to capacity. I decided to upgrade to the 1TB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe M.2. Since my motherboard only had a M.2 SATA slot, there would be no speed benefit placing the NVMe in that slot. Since I had an open PCIe X4 slot available, I purchase an M.2 PCIe X4 adapter that supports the NVMe drive and placed that combination in my computer. I initialized the NVMe EVO drive, used the Samsung Data Migration software to image my original boot drive to the EVO, which took 18 minutes. I removed the original M.2 SSD drive from the motherboard, booted to the EVO, and all looks and operates like expected. Using the Samsung Magician software, my original SSD SATA drive speed performance was 521 mb/s Read and 383 mb/s Write. The Samsung 970 EVO NVMe drive speed performance is 3521 mb/s Read and 2279 mb/s Write. Note: I would need to format the original M.2 SSD drive in some external M.2 USB adapter to be able to place back onto the motherboard and use as a slave drive.

Package came ripped at the top and the seal was broken on the box. Still works as it should.

Excelente producto impecable

Used to replace my 250 GB SSD in Dell XPS-15. Very easy to swap out of laptop. I used a usb boot disk to restore my operating system. Works as expected.
