> 3 dayReplaces two large external drive that were totally not dependable. I use it to back up desktop but can also hook to my laptop to combine information. I would very highly recommend this product.

> 3 dayThe external SSD works very well excluding the cable. It is cheap with power consumption when data is not being sent. I have not received any complaints form my MacBook Pro about power consumption.

Greater than one weekSo for a long time now I have been stubborn when it comes to converting over to using SSDs. I was a firm believer for a long time that mechanical HDDs were better because they have a much higher capacity. I decided to give SSDs a try when I wanted to back my Mac mini up. The package arrived quicker than expected. When I opened it I was shocked to see how small this thing is. Its not kinda small or sorta small its REALLY small. It came with 2 cables. Ones a USB C to C and the others a USB A to C. I plugged it in using the A cable and it popped right up on my desktop. Im currently using Mac os Catalina. I opened it up and to my surprise it was already formatted in EXfat which is a nice touch because that means I can use it on windows as well without the need for additional partitions and formatting. I started my backup project expecting it to take the weekend to do. This drive copied 700 gigs of videos and documents in about 30 minutes. This things FAST. During the time that I used it it became kinda hot but nothing that would make me worried. The copy finished and now I have a weekend wide open to do whatever. The drive has some weight to it and the chassis feels very sturdy. I would ignore the software that comes bundled on the SSD. Its the wrong software for the drive. I recommend getting the software for the touch instead as its the only software that I could get to work with it on mobile. Other users report the same remedy. Im not really sure what the negative reviews are talking about with it constantly reconnecting and leaking some white waxy goo. I havent experienced either and given the age of the reviews Im assuming that they were issues that Samsung fixed at some point. The bottom line is its doing what its supposed to do, its giving me no issues and if for some reason it does its covered by a very robust 3 year warranty. Grab one, Im sure you will like it. I will update the review as time goes on.

Greater than one weekAfter reading other reviews of the T7 (and owning 4 T5s (0.5 TB, 1TB, 2x 2TB), I was a bit hesitant to try this drive. Because I built my PC 6 years ago, it doesnt have USB-C connections, so I wasnt expecting the full advertised speed. But the speed test I ran performed as well as the T5 is rated for, and so Im happy with the speed of the drive. The T7 is a few mm longer than the T5, but seems to be the same thickness and width. With mine, Ive seen no overheating, and no high CPU, memory, or GPU use associated with the T7s use. Love it!
