Greater than one weekAs someone who has had several HDDs and SSDs in the past, I am very disappointed to have received a faulty SSD. When I plug it in, it is recognized. But when I try to copy a file or move a file onto it, it rejects the file saying it failed to connect. This happens about 50% of the time. The other times, it corrupts the file and doesnt allow me to open or view the content. DO NOT use this as a backup, you will lose your files. The product also gets very hot to the touch, and lags, and stops responding every 30 seconds or so. Beware of this product, I got a damaged or faulty unit and I have lost data.

18-11-2024Avoid Samsung SSD T7. My experience is similar to the experiences others have had with this product. Specifically, SSD causes computers to over heat. The SSD also gets extremely hot! The issue does not correlate to i/o or computational load. The issue occurs the moment the SSD is attached to the computer. Interestingly, the Samsung T5 does not have these problems. It is my conjecture that the T7 is simply an overclocked T5. If my suspicions are true Samsung is engaging in very shady business practices. Please do your self a huge favor and avoid the T7 as it will ruin your hardware.

> 3 daySo I bought this after review almost all the reviews. Felt super confident when I made the purchase. Firstly, I must say it looks really good. Very small and lightweight! I don’t mind that at all. The setup was a breeze and it arrived pretty quickly. My only issue is with the writing speed (the major reason we are buying this anyway). It’s so slow! I attempted to transfer only 140GB worth of data and 1hr later it’s still at 70%! Like what?! I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and try again. I’ll update this review if there is any change :(
