The app isn’t as nice as the roomba app, you can’t schedule cleaning multiple times a day. Or use it in other levels of a home. Hopefully Shark will improve the app soon. But other than that this beats my roomba in every other way. Quieter, more efficient, better mapping, less bumping and scuffing. It never gets lost, stuck or quits at a cliff. The whiskers spin slower so they don’t fling things around. The rollers don’t fill with dog hair and need cleaned every week and I have yet to come home and find it uncharged, hidden under a sofa and not on the dock. I did not think I’d like the auto empty feature but I do, very much. And I like that it’ll empty midway thru cleaning and go back to work. So much less dust when I don’t have to empty the tiny bin daily. I just wish these things cleaned pet hair just a little bit better and it’d almost replace my upright or stick vac….but that’s just not the case. But it helps.

When I first got it, the option to have it dock after 30 mins of cleaning was on and it was taking almost a full day to clean my 1900 sq ft home between cleaning and charging. In fact, I was in the process of returning it because of this. However, once I realized what the issue was and shut it off, it was better. Even still, it will only clean about an hour before the battery runs low and it has to dock. After an hour of charging, it will then will start again and finish the rest of my house in the next hour. I still dont get the inefficient cleaning pattern it chooses because it will clean one room then all of a sudden go across my house to clean another room only to have to make a bee-line back to the first room to finish. I used to have another unknown brand that I loved but it was damaged by a dog toy that clogged the roller and damaged the part that holds and spins the roller. After about a month of research and comparison shopping, I chose this model based on the reviews and the features it had. It does a good job and eventually it will clean the house over a 3 hour period - so its good for now. Pros: - Good suction - does well with pet hair; I have 3 dogs and a cat - The self-empty feature is really good and not as noisy as others while emptying - It does eventually clean every area of my house, well - Back and forth cleaning pattern vs. bump and go - Always finds its way back to the docking station - Handles all my rugs well without getting stuck, dragging them or folding them over. Cons: - Battery life stinks - App is terrible - I have to log in each time I open it. Plus, it does not show you real-time information - it is only available after it docks.

I have. Large home so I needed two to complete the home I use twice a day. Live in the country so it gets pretty dusty out here being a windy state. I do have to clean the vacuum after every use because it is not very dog hair friendly as they state, I have a medium length hair dog, if I don’t clean after every use it will clog up and not vacuum right leaving dog hair behind as it vacs. Use a small hand held blower to clean after each use.

I used to get irritated when my kids would come out to my office and get dirt and grass all over my floor. The Robo-Shark has brought peace back into my heart like only a shark can. haha I would buy again. Just an FYI, it is a maintenance cleaner. Youll still have to vacuum the corners and edges of the room manually. Overall though its a great lil vacuum.

We first purchased a Shark AV911S Robot Vacuum from Amazon. We named it Bob. It was just OK. It did a fine job of actually cleaning, but then, after less than 6 weeks, it started throwing notices that saying that the charging power source was incompatible with the charging station (we live in the US and have standad 120V power in the house). And multiple times it failed to return to the station for recharging, and just petered out where it lay. There was no room mapping feature, and I likened it to a blind man just feeling his way around bumping into things. If it got into a corner, sometimes it would take literally a minute or two just to get out of the corner. We renamed it (at the risk of being politically incorrect) Bob the Ret*rd). Interestingly, I was unable to write a review for the AV911S as Amazon aid there was too much review activity for that unit, and that only verified purchasers would be able to review. Hmmm....sounds fishy to me. So we finally gave up on it and returned it and purchased the Shark AV2501AE AI Robot Vacuum with XL HEPA and self emptying base - which is what we should have purchased in the first place. This robot DOES have room mapping, which is a great feature. It also has LIDAR, so it does not feel its way around just by bumping into walls and objects. It actively sees objects and avoids them without hitting them. We have only had this for a couple of weeks, but as I write this, I sent it to the master bedroom to clean, and voila, it went straight to the MB. So far so good, and I really like this robot (also named Bob. And this one, so far, remains just Bob).

I purchased this on an impulse because it was on sale. I set it up and hit the clean button and it far exceeded (in a positive way) the job it did cleaning! Unfortunately it was down hill from there. The unit went back to the docking station, recharged and then had a #9 bin error. I ejected the dust bin out of the robot and replaced it and it again did a great job vacuuming but after the next recharge, same error. I called Shark customer service and here is the shot version of the drama that ensued: 1. first agent with very poor English (Ive worked extensively overseas and am usually able to understand even thick accents but this was barely comprehensible at times) sent me a link to be able to view the robot through the camera on my phone. She had me dock the unit and since it did that and started vacuuming again she declared it cured, gave me a case number, and signed off. 2. after completing the vacuuming cycle (about an hour until battery needs recharge) it recharged and same dust bin error 9 message. I called back in and got another agent with nearly incomprehensible English skills who started the same routine of diagnostic steps with me but after getting to the Im going to send you a link to access your camera so I can see the error she went radio silent, line connected but no body home. Mind you it took 15 minutes on hold to get to an agent and another 15 of diagnostics to get to this point. 1/2 hour wasted. 3. called in a 3rd time, 3rd agent I couldnt understand, and same diagnostic routine. At the 45 minute mark in the conversation she said, ok it looks like its the same as with the first agent so well need to send you a new robot. Great... I thought. She takes all my information and then says I forgot to tell you, the warranty is limited and youre responsible for the $25 shipping of the replacement! I protested, she checked with her supervisor and got the shipping waved. She then informed me that this unit is not in stock so it will be 2-3 weeks before I should expect a replacement via FedEx. The only good part of the experience is that agent 3 realized her English wasnt good so rather than try to have me spell out my address she just had me write it down on a piece of paper and point the camera on my phone at it so that she could take it down. Pretty good idea really.

The robot vacuum works well enough however I am underwhelmed with its ability to maneuver obstacles and it sees intake vents on the floor as cliffs and gets stuck (I had to make no-go zone around the vent). It also gets stuck on the objects on the floor that it should maneuver around. We like to schedule it to run at night but most nights it cant complete its run and we have a very obstacle free house. But the app is beyond bad. The history randomly wont show the map so I dont know where it has cleaned, you can only schedule once a day, and the notifications really dont tell me much (they seriously say the word cliff). This is my first experience with robot cleaners so maybe my expectation is too high but I am underwhelmed at best! But I am tempted to return it and see if the iRobot is just a better product.

I bought a rumba 03+ I had nothing but trouble with it. So I bought the shark and it’s been just a fabulous machine. It’s very reliable. It does a good job and I’ve had no problem with it too. I would recommend it to anyone who never wants to push The vacuum around their house again

    Greater than one week

Having a boxer puppy this vacuum changed the game forever. This thing gets under most of the furniture and beds. It’s a refreshing feeling to walk around your apt with the floors being crispy clean.
