> 24 hourAs stated in the headline, this vac has very strong suction, clearly more than my old Shark vac that was replaced due to failure of the brush motor. However, the new vac is also 25-30% heavier than the old vac. Also, I know that the new-design brush roller is supposed to be clog free (and has been so far), but I prefer the old vac chassis that allowed the brush roller to be popped out from the top when necessary.

> 24 hourThe Shark AZ1002 Apex Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is a powerful and versatile cleaning machine that delivers exceptional results. It features a DuoClean system that combines a bristle brush with a soft roller to pick up both large and small debris, and a self-cleaning brush roll that removes hair and other tangled items, ensuring that the vacuum is always in optimal condition. The Apex Powered Lift-Away design is a unique feature that allows the user to easily detach the canister from the vacuum and clean hard-to-reach areas, such as stairs and tight spaces. It is also a very lightweight vacuum, making it easy to move around and use for extended periods without fatigue. The Shark AZ1002 Apex Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is incredibly powerful, with a motor that delivers exceptional suction power, making it ideal for cleaning carpets, hardwood floors, and other surfaces. It also features an anti-allergen seal that traps 99.9% of dust and allergens, ensuring that the air in your home is cleaner and healthier. Another feature that I appreciate is the LED headlights, which make it easy to see and clean even in dimly lit areas. The vacuum also comes with a variety of attachments, including a crevice tool, upholstery tool, and dusting brush, making it a versatile cleaning machine that can be used for a wide range of cleaning tasks. > 24 hourI have a St. Bernard and bought this vacuum for the no tangle spinning brush. At first,I loved this. It has really good suction. A little to much for small area rugs so I use it on the floor setting for that. It worked fine in the beginning. I have had it for six months and only use it once a week as I have a dyson for quick pick up and a cleaning lady who does a great job. Im finding that the no clog brush stops running. Its not like the hair is entwined around the brush but I still have to stop way to often to clean it.

> 24 hourThe main reason I bought this vacuum is because it claims to not have hair wrap. Well, it doesnt seem to work for me. I have really long hair (down to my waist) and after vacuuming a small area, I looked at the roller (see picture). Sure enough, my hair is neatly wrapped around the roller! My old vacuum (a Bissell) worked well, but I got tired of cleaning the roller all the time. Im sorry that I spent $400 on this. I would have gotten something cheaper, or just continued to use my Bissell. I gave it 3 stars because it does seem to clean well and it does pick up dog hair. I thought about returning it, but I just spent a lot of money on attachments because the reviews were so good. One review suggested letting it run for a few seconds after vacuuming. I did that and it just seems to comb the hair around the roller. I have several Shark vacuums and I like the quality, but Im very disappointed that Ill have to continue to clean the roller. Maybe I should just get my hair cut.

> 24 hourThis vacuum has quite a bit of power. We do home construction work and it does a good job on sheetrock dust. We also have 2 double-coated dogs and it does a good job getting the hair up. Its a bit heavy for me, but I find if I carry the tank by its handle, rather than attaching it to the suction part, its quite maneuverable and is less of a chore to push it around when attached. It has hard floor and rug height adjustments.

> 24 hourHave only used the vacuum once so far, but Ive had several Shark vacuums before this, so Im a fan. They dont make my favorite one any longer. But this replacement is pretty good so far! It has really great suction, which requires a little more exertion to control. It also doesnt swivel easily - a bit stiff. But it has a bigger tank than my previous one and works pretty much the same as the other in regard to the many different ways it can be used. The size makes it heavier than my last and it is a little wider than the last, which means I cant quite make into some of the places I did previously. It does come with three attachments, so those should do the job. Overall, Im happy with the performance and would recommend.

> 24 hourMy dyson all floors basically fell apart after 10 years of use. I read hundreds of reviews and watched review comparison videos of all types of vacuums from super expensive down to inexpensive. I settled on this on based on the suction power and the zero-m anti hair wrap. I vacuumed my house after 8 days (my vacuum broke then it was a holiday so delivery was delayed) and there wasnt one hair on the brush roll. Other reviews said they had hair wrap so I wasnt expecting much but there was no hair. I have long hair and my daughter does too and we have a golden retriever. Super impressed. Also, the ease of access to the brushroll is a huge plus since my old dyson you had to flip upside down and use a coin to open the casing. It was pain. With this one you just click a button and the over comes off exposing the roll. The hand held pet tool did however get hair wrapped around it on the first use but it doesnt advertise the zero-m technology. It is tall. If you are short it may be cumbersome for you. I am 57 and it is noticeably taller than other vacuums. It drives itself when in carpet mode, very strong forward pull you have to control it. Easy to move between hard floors and the two carpet settings. The hose doesnt seem very flexible and I am getting used to the way to wand works it seems awkward but I may be using it wrong. 3 tools, and two spots for tools. Kind of annoying so I just kept the one brushroll tool with the manual in the accessories box that came with it. Seems like there should be a spot for all tools. Dust collection bin is smaller than the dyson I had, I emptied it 4 times for one vacuum but like I said it had been a week. Overall I am loving it. The negatives are very minimal and dont outweigh the positives. I did a ton of research before I landed on this one and I am glad I did. I have only had it a week so I cant comment on longevity but I have vacuumed daily for 8 days and not one hair is on the brushroll. For me thats a win.

> 24 hourHello: I had the power cut-off problem immediately on first use and was freaking out after reading others had this happen as well. The problem seems to be fixed by moving the crevice tool from one side of the holder to the other. It was pushing the hose connection out of contact. So far this has solved the power cut-off problem. If it doesnt solve it completely, I will post again. The problem definitely is the hose connection into the tank for me FYI. Otherwise, this vacuum is amazing. It is stiff to maneuver at first, but loosens up a bit after the first use. The suction is off the charts and it cleans the wood floors beautifully. It is easy to use the different configurations to get into all the nooks and crannies. My favorite configuration is holding the tank and disconnecting the long wand from the base to do the stairs or get into difficult places. I can see how this vacuum would be hard to use for someone shorter or older with less upper-body strength. I am 56 and in shape and it can be hard to move around some objects as the handle is very long and the tank a bit heavy.

> 24 hourHave 2 yes 2 Australia shepherd’s. Lots of hair. This vacuum sucked it all up. Loved the dust bin. Easy to clean n wash. Loved the different ways you can detach it. BUT. It stopped working. I suspect the cord. It seemed cheap. I guess I play electrician or buy a new one, which I would buy again.

> 24 hourWe have hardwood throughout our home, 2 dogs (one is a snowstorm of a shedder), and two cats. We had been using a combination of a normal everyday Hoover, a Dyson cordless stick (very good), rubber rake, and Swiffer to try and keep up with hair, dander, dirty dust that constantly looks as though we havent cleaned in weeks (just 24 hours after a cleaning). The goal was to consolidate down to a single, versatile tool if possible. The Hoover just blows the hair on the floor around before it could ever pick it up, so almost useless. The Dyson (we like it a lot mind you) picks up the pet hair and CRAZY amounts of fine stuff, but cant pick up the most routine, everday debris if its bigger than a cookie crumb (and it hadnt better be big cookie crumb...). The Dyson also struggles with clogs, longevity, and a real loss of suction effectiveness with its non-motorized attachments. The rubber rake is a terrific way to do a quick sweep, but it leaves a lot of dust behind (aaaaand thats where the Swiffer comes in). Funny thing is, we end up a VERY sizable with a pile of hair/debris, and it would be great to finish that off with a vaccum, one blows the pile to the ceiling and the other clogs immediately. After watching several vids on YouTube (pos and neg), a couple Vacuum Wars (super thorough) review/comparisons had me convinced the Shark Apex Duo w/ZeroM was worth a try. Amazon had it for $100 off this week, so we gave it a shot. Put it together last night in 5 mins, read the warnings, got started. FANTASTICO! Played around with it open areas for a couple of minutes to get the feel of it, and the floors looked cleaned and dusted (thanks to the soft roller). Then on a lark I took it a raked pile of hair/debris and gave it a shot: Sucked that whole mess up like it was nothing. I went slow and careful, but I didnt have to go over the area twice. Have to say I laughed a little at how easily it happened. Stuff I had marked as concerns based on reviews I saw/read: Weight - I dont have an issue with it, and neither does my 5 foot wife. The thing glides on the newer rubber rollers Shark added. So, as long as they hold up (I under stand there used to be hard plastic wheels that ground down with use), were good. Manueverability - It has a twist steer setup that is nice and smooth, but it does take a little getting used to. A little heavyish. Think family minivan, not F1 race car. Dont rush, dont take your corners too fast. Smooooooth though! Hose range for wand - I saw a couple of complaints about this, but if you pop off the canister to walk around with, I dont see the issue. Cord Clip - I saw complaints about no cord clip A LOT reviews...Theres a freakin cord clip built right into the piece where you wrap the cord. Not sure how you can miss that... Versatility - Call me crazy, but I read directions. Be aware of the operative warnings and take a minute check out each release button. I found it really easy to pop the canister and wand off the base to do my stairs, baseboards, ceiling corners, and then put it all back together again. Also, popping the dust cup off and emptying was a cinch (easier than the Dyson!). I can see giving the dust cup a simple clean water rinse once a week to keep it from looking cruddy. Ill likely do another update (with a PILE of fur) after a few weeks or months, Im not usually a review writer kind of a guy, but I was really impressed right away. Thought maybe my experience might help someone else who has paralysis by analysis like I usually do.
