Unfortunately very heavy and difficult to maneuver while vacuuming. Otherwise it’s a good machine that will last a while like my previous one. I’ll need to decide whether to get another model or tough it out for the next 5 or more years with this heavyweight.

The Shark AZ1002 Apex Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is a powerful and versatile cleaning machine that delivers exceptional results. It features a DuoClean system that combines a bristle brush with a soft roller to pick up both large and small debris, and a self-cleaning brush roll that removes hair and other tangled items, ensuring that the vacuum is always in optimal condition. The Apex Powered Lift-Away design is a unique feature that allows the user to easily detach the canister from the vacuum and clean hard-to-reach areas, such as stairs and tight spaces. It is also a very lightweight vacuum, making it easy to move around and use for extended periods without fatigue. The Shark AZ1002 Apex Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is incredibly powerful, with a motor that delivers exceptional suction power, making it ideal for cleaning carpets, hardwood floors, and other surfaces. It also features an anti-allergen seal that traps 99.9% of dust and allergens, ensuring that the air in your home is cleaner and healthier. Another feature that I appreciate is the LED headlights, which make it easy to see and clean even in dimly lit areas. The vacuum also comes with a variety of attachments, including a crevice tool, upholstery tool, and dusting brush, making it a versatile cleaning machine that can be used for a wide range of cleaning tasks. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the Shark AZ1002 Apex Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum. It is a powerful, versatile, and easy-to-use vacuum that delivers exceptional results. If youre looking for a high-quality vacuum that can handle all of your cleaning needs, this product is definitely worth considering.

We purchased this recently upon moving into our new home. Were trying to keep it as nice as we can with kids and pets. This is by far the most expensive vacuum weve ever had. There are definitely lower priced options that will do the job. Just not as good as this. Maneuverability - This is a very robust vacuum. It pivots surprisingly well for its size. You really can work around corners and furniture easily. The head on this vacuum is thin enough to reach beneath the furniture. It vacuums right up to the baseboard in either direction. Im happy with it. Ease of use - The cord is adequate in length. The dust collection compartment is easy to empty. Our 12 year old is proficient with all of the functions. After all, it really is his vacuum. The lift away is pretty simple to do. The light on the head is bright enough to see in the darker corners and behind furniture. I like the light quite a bit. The crevice tool and that other thing that we use on the furniture are easily installed and removed. They both work well. Suction power- Possibly the most important aspect of my opinion on this. Im impressed. I can tell you that your carpet is dirtier than you likely think it is. Our son vacuums upstairs every other day with the exception of the master bedroom. I do that one myself. This thing gets dust out of the carpet when the carpet looks clean. Its really remarkable. In summary - 25 years ago I never would have believed that Im on the Internet reviewing a vacuum cleaner. Im well within the clutches of adulthood though and this is what its come to. Seriously though, Im pleased with this purchase. It was an expensive item for us. We had a lower priced shark before this. It still works and has been a good one. Hopefully this one will have the same longevity. Only time will tell. If youre looking to take your vacuum game up a level I would recommend this one. We do really like it.

I bought the Dyson Ball Animal 2 for comparison and kept the Shark. Serious suction and maneuverability with this machine; as well, as well, the lift away features are great. Very happy! The only corrections Id offer are: - The main hose is too short for comfortable ceiling vacuuming applications and is a kind of cheap plastic and the main extender hose doesnt have a brush on it. Hey, you cant get everything you want; I recommend this item.

I just happened to see someone on Facebook asking about vacuums for pet hair. Something like 80% of the responses were suggesting this specific model vacuum. I was already in need of a new vacuum so Im glad I saw that post and completed the subsequent research and review reading. I knew my Walmart bought Bissel was not getting the job done. My carpet cleaner would pull up wet globs of hair every couple feet! After vacuuming! The day I received this Shark Apex I vacuum my bedroom floor with the old Bissel. Having a black cat and a Rottweiler there was plenty of fine black hair in my carpets. Especially beside my bed where my Rottweiler faithfully sleeps at night. After Bissel did its best I gave the Shark Apex a shot. Im not exaggerating at all when I tell you I had to empty its collection bin two times. It was literally full of dog hair. Full, tightly packed with dog hair. It was absolutely disgusting to realize how much hair my Bissel vacuum had been missing the last couple years. My carpet changed color. And I can say that after vacuuming my bedroom, hallway, hardwood floors (instead of sweeping) and sucking up a dozen collection bins worth of pet hair since purchasing this vacuum... the Zero-M technology has still kept the roller brush clean. After vacuuming my sons bedroom today I laid down the vacuum today and my 11 year old son immediately exclaimed, Theres no hair in it! when he bent down to look at the roller brush. Even my 11 year old was shocked. The little rubber flaps they call Zero-M Technology actually work pretty well. Its not amazing for stairs though. Id love to rip the carpet off my stairs and go to wood treads. Vacuuming stairs is never fun, and this vacuum doesnt solve that issue. Even taking the collection bin and motor off in hand held mode vacuuming the stairs is still a pain in the butt. Especially since this vacuum does self propel itself with the brush. That is great throughout the house, but not on stairs. It does a great job on hard floors though. I used it today for the first time on my hard wood floors. It does NOT scatter debris like most vacuum cleaners do on hard surfaces. That said, I likely wont use it on my wood floors very much. Ive seen videos online showing that the tiny rollers underneath tend to break apart over time. And since I can hear those rollers on my wood floor Im concerned theyll wear down and eventually begin scratching the floors (I mean, if my Rottweiler hasnt yet this vacuum probably wont either, right?).

I literally got this vacuum today! Unboxed it and put it to use. Holy suction!!! I only vacuumed my living room and had to empty the canister twice! Just goes to show my old vacuum wasnt up to par. I even used the attachments to vacuum the couch. It does sound a little like a motorcycle racing down the highway, but it got all the dog hair and crumbs with little effort. If you have animals, hair that sheds (human hair), toddlers, whatever the case may be that leaves a mess this vacuum can handle it with ease. I would give this 10 stars if I could!! Worth every penny in my book!

Love this Shark! Works great. I do need to add some attachments for under the furniture & such but overall it’s a great cleaning tool. Now to order more attachments & love cleaning. Even my kids can push & clean the floors with this one.

I started with a Shark Professional and loved it. My favorite thing was that I could take it apart and wash everything, except the motor, of course. It was a hard choice to find our new vacuum. I was open to trying other brands so we went to all of the box stores, pulled vacuums off the shelves, handled them all, pushed them around, read what attachments were included, and read every negative 1 and 2 star review online. I settled on the Shark Apex because it seemed to fit our familys needs and ignored the negatives. I am happy to say the positives outweighed the negatives on this Shark! We have 6 cats and a dog and a commercial laundry, linen business at our home and have to vacuum everyday to control the hair and lint. This vacuum is heavier than any other I have used because it has the biggest motor. Suction is unbelievable, the lift away makes it possible to get under beds, sofas, and shelving. The 2 brushes work together and are so much better on my concrete & wood floors than any other vacuum I have used. It definitely pulls in any spilled cat litter, sand, and fine particles where other vacuums, including my Shark Professional would scatter it unless you used a broom first. The self-clean brush does keep the pet hair from tangling around the brush 97% of the time, we know nothing is 100%. The best news is in that 3% when something gets sucked in, did I say this has great suction power, it is easy to get to the bushes and clean them. The ease of taking apart of the entire vacuum and cleaning the brushes, hoses, canister, and attachments cant be found in any other vacuum we tried out. The ability to wash the vacuum parts was one of our top priorities with pets since no one really wants the animal smell or the nasty to linger or be spread to other areas of your home or business. The ease of disinfecting a vacuum was never a consideration or something I thought was possible until I got my first Shark. You will need to get used to the pivot of the vacuum, it doesnt turn like those uprights that everyone is used to. This one is heavier than others but it has the highest suction and will pick up almost anything. It is also a pretty quiet machine, it doesnt scream and you can actually hear whats going on around you when youre working. The pet attachment wasnt what I expected, it appeared on the ad that it was electric and plugged into the handle. It isnt, it runs by air, the same as the rest of the brushes. There are no belts to ever replace in a Shark, when you use the attachments the handle also has a light to help you see what needs cleaned. I definitely recommend the Shark Apex. After I purchased, it appears that it is also in a recommendation of consumer reports.

The Shark APEX full-sized upright vacuum delivers an incredible cleaning experience in a full-sized upright. Equipped with Shark DuoClean technology, it grabs large particles, pulls in piles, and directly engages hard floors for a beautiful, polished look. Powered Lift-Away gives you the ability to detach the pod and clean under furniture and above-floor areas with the push of a button. The self-cleaning brushroll delivers nonstop hair removal. The LED lights on the handle and floor nozzle provide visibility in dark spaces, spotlighting hidden debris. With Advanced Anti-Allergen Complete Seal, dust and allergens are trapped inside the vacuum.
