    gainをかなり食うのでagシリーズは結構しんどいのでマイクプリ必須です。(RMEシリーズでも40〜50位上げてようやく普通、というレベル)

If you have heard people talk about this mic not sounding great, there is an important issue most of those people overlooked. This is what is considered a gain hungry mic. It needs a lot of preamp power to make it sound good. While it does not require phantom power (+48V), you will need this phantom power ran through a mic booster to make the mic sound great. This is what everyone is usually using when you hear this mic sounding so well. Now there are some great preamps put there that can power this thing, but for most people youll need the booster. I recommend the dynamite or Coda MB-1. The Coda is just under $100. If you have more money to spend get the Cloud Lifter for around $160.

Wonderful voice microphone. It does have very low output so if you dont have high quality preamps you will need a cloud lifter to get the gain needed without adding noise. It sounds amazing through my Millennia and Avalon and USB PRE.

I mustve gotten a bunk SM7, the input gain is extremely low. When I run it through my interface with the preamp level at 10, the only way I can get it to reach 0dBFS is if I scream into it with the mic in my face. I as under the assumption that this mic would have a better signal than that. I have tested this input with Mogami Gold cables, and I have used other mics to test the interface, and this is the only mic that receives such low gain. I should also mention that the audio quality is absolutely terrible. Really not sure whats happening here, but its really sad to spend $400 on a microphone and get such a useless piece of junk, especially for the reputation.

I like the sound a lot! Im not using a sound cloud or any kind of booster. Im just using a Tascam DR-60D and it works great.

This microphone is amazing. Definitely a bump up from the SM57 and 55SH Ive been using to record vocals in my home studio. Simply put, I cant afford even an entry level Neumann (rather spend my money on guitars) but this mic delivers as promised at the > $500 level. Crisp and clear sound. I have a UAD Apollo so I didnt really need the Cloudlifter CL-1 but when plugged into my Mackie 1220i board, the CL-1 would obviously be necessary because the gain is low.

I see everybody using these, but they arent great mics. Youll need to buy some sort of preamp to boost the low signal levels, and if you do that youre in the price range of a Neumann or something better.
