A must have for anyone looking to produce any sort of voice audio

I decided to start a podcast last year and bought two of these mics because of the glowing reviews and the fact that they just LOOK like mics you would find in a legit radio station studio. I run them through a Focusrite Scarlett interface and love the quality of vocal recordings they produce. Everything just sounds so clear and they pick up less outside noise than my condenser mics. This mic is absolutely perfect for vocal use and I would highly recommend it, I even just bought a third one for my colleague who lives across town so we can record podcasts from the comfort of our own respective homes when traffic is particularly awful. The one knock on the mic is the input is quiet compared to other mics I have used, so I really have to crank up the gain to find a good level. However, this problem is easily countered with the addition of a Triton FetHead, or (I assume) the Cloudlifter thats recommended on this site. I havent used the Cloudlifter but bought some FetHeads elsewhere and now I couldnt be happier. This mic is must-own.

Voice quality is amazing.

The electrical engineering is good, the mechanical engineering is below average for such an expensive unit. Its an embarrassment.

This mic is smooth, warm, full and amazing on vocals! It doesnt get better than this for any mic under 1 grand. You will not be disappointed. Just make sure you have a good preamp.

I have had many Mics in the past and the SM7B is my favorite. Combine this with a preamp and it is truly a great Legendary Microphone.
