> 24 hourI am extremely displeased with this product. Due to the large amount of positive reviews, I chose to ignore the few negative ones and have unfortunately suffered the same issues described in those reviews. While the overall product appearance looks to be tough and reliable, immediately after transferring all of my data to the device, about 2 weeks later my computer stopped detecting any information. Prior to that, it was working fine and I kept it plugged in to my brand new desktop. After a couple of days of no success, I brought it in to my work IT specialist who advised that the device was non-responsive with multiple warnings that in order to use the device, I would need to format the disk. Clearly this was not an option since I had already backed up my lifes storage on this device. He explained that unfortunately we would need to format it and then run an emergency recovery program. I was able to retrieve some information but nowhere near my 50GB of information. I am extremely upset primarily for the fact that I am left to accept the fact that the device destroyed everything I had, I am out of the return period. I sincerely have never been so disappointed by a product. The least I could have is a refund but clearly, I no longer qualify.

> 24 hourNot a bad purchase at all. This external drive is built to withstand a tank rolling over it. Drop it to your hearts delight, I guess. I couldnt use my Macs Disk Utility to reformat the Armor A60, however. As Im only using it for general data storage, this isnt a big deal for me. It could be for others, for example, those wanting to partition their A60s. Also, the USB connection, while fast, is not as fast (in my subjective opinion) as fast as a SATA connection would be. A plus is that its all ready to go out of the box, without the need to locate online, download, and install drivers (at least for use with my Mac). At the sales price, its a good deal.

> 24 hourLove this little drive. I use it for taking files with me and between computers in my house. I like the plug storage, but it doesnt really stay put. I use an elastic band around it to make sure it doesnt fall off in my bag. The unit is very attractive and seems rugged, time will tell. It is thicker than my other external drives at 3/4. Purchased Aug 10 2917 Now July 21 2018 Changed my stars from 5 to 1 So not even a year and it wont show up on my old Win 7 desktop or my new Win 10 laptop. This has never been dropped, taken out of the house or abused in any way. It just seems to have stopped showing up on my computers and I dont even take if from one place to another more than once every 2 or 3 months. It still shows up to disconnect safely but that is all. I was sure it was Win 10 but now know better. Having tried it on 2 other computers. It does make a nice little disco beat when plugging it in and the lite in the drive comes one but that is the end of it. I have had another of these Silicon Power drives and it is still working but then I never move it so who knows what would happen if I did. Update Aug 2018 Well it did fail and I didnt get my information back, but the company did replace the unit. Since I dont use it for anything really important and have more than one back up including another Silicon Power portable HD this wasnt a problem. I still dont have a clue why this happened but I am glad I got a replacement. Although they should have paid for shipping both ways.

> 24 hourIt worked quickly and easily to save pictures and documents from my MacBook Pro, but I cannot use with my Surface Pro 3. I have tried trouble shootingwithout success. I am very disappointed as I made the purchase to save my files from my Mac before I could no longer access the files so I wouldnt lose them and could view or use with my Surface Pro. Yes, the documents are Microsoft docs as I had the Microsoft Office pack installed on the Mac. The Surface makes noise saying it knows something has been plugged in, but I cannot open the hard drive, view contents, or save to it on the Surface.

> 24 hour»Ive been using this drive at work and home and am very happy with its performance and design. I have the 1TB model which when formatted in Windows using NTFS ended up being 932GBs. »The outer casing consists of hard plastic and the green silicone material you can see in the photos. The green silicone is actually what is surrounding the hard drive inside, protecting it from drops and is how the suspension system works. The green silicone also has a slot that goes all the way around which is used to hold onto the included USB 3.0 cable using 2 clips. The 2 plastic pieces simply screw into each other on each side using 4 screws. The USB port has a flap in the silicone to keep it closed and free of dust when not in use. There are also 2 openings on the bottom plastic part where 2 green strips come through and provide grip on whatever surface you put it on, preventing slips. Simple and effective design for protection, grip and convenience. »There is no external powered needed for this, power it taken from the USB port on whatever device you are using it with »Copying to and from the drive was speedy and I the speeds I received when running a speed test were about what I expected for a traditional hard drive over USB 3.0. I attached a photo of my results which were 120.0MB read and 115.8MB write for sequential writes. Im not sure if Silicon Power wanted me to do this, but I did it anyways, I unscrewed the 4 screws to see what drive was inside. I know Silicon Power does not manufacture hard drives like Western Digital and Seagate do. I was hoping to find a brand name from one of the very few large drive manufacturers and I am happy to report I did. Inside is a 1TB standard Seagate laptop drive. Not some cheap white label drive, a quality brand drive. Good choice. »I have not tested the ability to survive a drop because I am actually using this on a daily basis so I am being slightly cautious. I am however throwing it into a backpack filled with things and plopping it down on a desk multiple times a day, you dont want to treat any standard hard drive with moving parts too terribly, but so far so good, no problems with performance or any strange issues. »Overall this has been a great drive for me and I recommend it to anyone looking for a more durable external drive to take on the go, if anything changes I will update this review in the future. *I received this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review, I hope this review was helpful.

> 24 hourEveryones been there. Your PC dies with your saved documents with it. This has happened a few times over the years, What a pain. One of the gals at work suggested buying a portable hard drive. I have to admit, I never thought I needed one. However, the point is compelling; if, for whatever reason I needed to leave the house (fire, lets say), I can grab this ONE thing and shoot out the door. I just saved all my important stuff. I save everything to this drive. No matter what, my stuff is safe. Military Shockproof - Drop protection meets US Military (MIL-STD-810G) Standards, good enough for me, right? Water-Resistant - IPX4 Splash Resistant from all angles for at least 5 minutes, SuperSpeed USB 3.0 - High transferring rate up to 5Gb/sec and backward compatible with USB 2.0; Cable Management Design - Brilliant wrap -around USB 3.0 cable storage design; I like that. Works with PCs and Macs - Share data and files between different platforms, nice, versatile. Best Warranty - 3 years manufacturer warranty. All great points. Im thinking Ill buy one for hubby, too

> 24 hourNo problem with the hard drive!! It comes with a program that can be installed only on a windows pc, the format is in Fat32 and you can use ir with a mac without any problems, very useful to store whatever you want. Talking about the hardshell, it seems to be durable and good quality, ive never tried to throw it, but i hope my disk will survive. Its compatible with time capsule for mac users. Greets!

> 24 hourthe drive itself is operating very well. However, on my Lenovo computer which has 4 USB 2.0 ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports I can only get it to function properly on the 2.0 ports. When I connect it to the 3.0 ports it is not seen by the computer or it is seen as 2.0. Sometimes it is detected as 3.0 since the blue light on the drive turns on but will not mount in that case. trying to deal with Lenovo tech support since I am not sure whose problem it is yet.

> 24 hourSo far I like it. Im not going to give it a five star rating yet because I havent tested it long enough to see its length of life or rugged qualities, but it looks tough and runs quietly, smoothly, and runs without any necessary setup [unless youre using a mac and want to use it as both a time machine backup (os extended journaled) and also a drive to store files for transfer between macs and pcs (I believe the format for that is FAP)]. Im hopeful that it will survive the long run. I also ordered the Drive Logic DL-64 Portable EVA Hard Drive Carrying Case Pouch (Red) and it fits in there; I just had to remove the side usb to usb dongle cable from its plastic clamps and the clamps from the hard drive as well (which is super easy to do). Both of these fit in the pouchs pocket. Having this hard carrying case will make me feel more at ease when bringing it to rougher environments.

> 24 hourAfter my husband passed away suddenly last year I decided to downsize and I moved last summer. A lot of things from our forty two years of marriage ended up in storage and my daughter is doing a phenominal job on doing our family tree, so we are going through pictures. She wanted to scan pictures and save them onto an external hard drive so they all could be together, so she used some of the Amazon Gift Card I got her for Christmas to buy the hard drive. I realized what a great idea that was, so I spent some time on Amazon checking out all the different models and the pros and cons of each. I knew that I wanted 1TB so that narrowed it a bit, and I read tons of reviews on each. What I liked about this one was that it was shock proof, scratch proof etc...I am very careful with my electronics, but everyone drops things occasionally, so I was really interested in what this one had to offer. I liked the way the USB cord wrapped and attached to the Hard Drive Itself. I figured there would be less chance of it getting lost. My daughter put all the pictures we have scanned already on to mine. She said it was fast and worked well. The only negative thing about it and it was not enough to take away a star was that the cord attaches to two clips, one on each side. However the small black clips are not permanently attached to either the hard drive or the USB cord and they fall off quite easily. They fell off the first time a couple of minutes after I took the hard drive out of the box and again when my daughter gave it back to me after adding the pictures. I originally planned not to buy a case, like I usually do for all my electronics, because of the shock proof and scratch proof properties. I decided to get one so that I could be sure that I didnt lose the cord or one of the clips. All the cases come in as different sizes as there are portable hard drives. I took the dimensions of the hard drive from the product page and then compared them with the dimensions of available cases in the price point I wanted to pay and I found an Orico case on Amazon which was reasonably priced. I chose the green color and was surprised when it arrived that it fit the hard drive like a glove and the green almost matched the green edging on the hard drive. I would recommend this portable hard drive because it works very well and has plenty of space for a lot of storage. As I stated, the loose clips to fasten the cord onto the unit does not effect the way the hard drive works, so unless that would be a deal breaker, you could pick up a case and be assured you wont lose the cord.
