This is another of those products that provides a straightforward function without clutter. It does not come with elaborate backup software, but I view that as a major plus. A lot of hard drive backup programs are so helpful, they make it almost impossible to do anything except for exactly what the software wants you to do, making it hard for you to exercise some free will on how you use the drive. This drive allows you to use all of the capacity, however you want to use it. If you are just a little bit comfortable using a file manager program, this hard drive provides plenty of space to put your files, and flexibility to do it however you wish. It works flawlessly with just the power from the USB plug, and the included cable is a big plus - no digging around to find it. Luckily I have not had to test any of the ruggedness features, but it certainly appears to be well built and sturdy enough for whatever you throw at it.

This hard drive appears rugged on the outside, just how does it hold up? So far, great! Its been over a month & it has held up wonderfully on the outside, pretty much looks like new. Its also functional, which is the point! Files load quickly & the USB port is a plus, also well made. A longer cord would be nice, luckily not an expensive addition. Overall a secure & solid buy!

I bought this external hard drive to use to store all my important documents and photos somewhere other than my pc. I had a different one for several years, but it has gotten to the point where the cord I use for it no longer stays connected so I had to get another before I lost everything. This one works great! I love the fact that it uses a usb cord both ways so my cord began to give me issues, it would be easy to replace. I also like that this is very rugged and waterproof as I like to sometimes carry it with me in my purse. Hoperfully the capacity of 1TB will take a long time for me to fill. My only issue has been with the little side rubber hooks that are supposed to keep the cord on the unit, as one already came off and I have misplaced it in my purse. Very happy with this overall and can highly recommend.

La compré para respaldar mi MacBook Pro, la verdad que si tuve que formatear, porque de otra forma no puedes usarla. Te recomiendo que si estás en la misma situación veas tutoriales de YouTube para esto.

No problem with the hard drive!! It comes with a program that can be installed only on a windows pc, the format is in Fat32 and you can use ir with a mac without any problems, very useful to store whatever you want. Talking about the hardshell, it seems to be durable and good quality, ive never tried to throw it, but i hope my disk will survive. Its compatible with time capsule for mac users. Greets!

A very good device to store tons of games, movies, tv shows, music, or whatever media youd like. I have so much stored on it and yet its not even halfway full. The USB 3.0 makes data transfers very fast(as long as you have the 3.0 jacks). The only thing that I have found that is wrong with this product is that the little black things that hold the USB cable come off very easily. They can go back on, but they are easily lost. All in all 5/5 stars! Edit: Have had this for almost a year now and still working good as ever.

I looked for a drive to replace my old Transcend (640GB StoreJet M3) after the USB connector failed. A work colleague purchased the SP A60 drive and after looking it over I decided it would be a better replacement for the Transcend based on the device using an actual USB port rather than the flat USB3 connector. In fact that alone was the reason why I would not choose the Transcend again. Other than that, the SP 1TB A60 drive is very nice, the top of the cover can be a little slippery but on the desk it sits firm with the anti-slip pads underneath. I do a lot of international travelling and the drives take a bit of a beating as I go around the world. Ill give it 5 stars in 3 years time :)

Great product so far, knock on wood. I spent a lot of money on more expensive units just have them crash a few months later. Doing pretty good with this product so far. I used tons of data

Everyones been there. Your PC dies with your saved documents with it. This has happened a few times over the years, What a pain. One of the gals at work suggested buying a portable hard drive. I have to admit, I never thought I needed one. However, the point is compelling; if, for whatever reason I needed to leave the house (fire, lets say), I can grab this ONE thing and shoot out the door. I just saved all my important stuff. I save everything to this drive. No matter what, my stuff is safe. Military Shockproof - Drop protection meets US Military (MIL-STD-810G) Standards, good enough for me, right? Water-Resistant - IPX4 Splash Resistant from all angles for at least 5 minutes, SuperSpeed USB 3.0 - High transferring rate up to 5Gb/sec and backward compatible with USB 2.0; Cable Management Design - Brilliant wrap -around USB 3.0 cable storage design; I like that. Works with PCs and Macs - Share data and files between different platforms, nice, versatile. Best Warranty - 3 years manufacturer warranty. All great points. Im thinking Ill buy one for hubby, too
