So far I like it. Im not going to give it a five star rating yet because I havent tested it long enough to see its length of life or rugged qualities, but it looks tough and runs quietly, smoothly, and runs without any necessary setup [unless youre using a mac and want to use it as both a time machine backup (os extended journaled) and also a drive to store files for transfer between macs and pcs (I believe the format for that is FAP)]. Im hopeful that it will survive the long run. I also ordered the Drive Logic DL-64 Portable EVA Hard Drive Carrying Case Pouch (Red) and it fits in there; I just had to remove the side usb to usb dongle cable from its plastic clamps and the clamps from the hard drive as well (which is super easy to do). Both of these fit in the pouchs pocket. Having this hard carrying case will make me feel more at ease when bringing it to rougher environments.

I am extremely displeased with this product. Due to the large amount of positive reviews, I chose to ignore the few negative ones and have unfortunately suffered the same issues described in those reviews. While the overall product appearance looks to be tough and reliable, immediately after transferring all of my data to the device, about 2 weeks later my computer stopped detecting any information. Prior to that, it was working fine and I kept it plugged in to my brand new desktop. After a couple of days of no success, I brought it in to my work IT specialist who advised that the device was non-responsive with multiple warnings that in order to use the device, I would need to format the disk. Clearly this was not an option since I had already backed up my lifes storage on this device. He explained that unfortunately we would need to format it and then run an emergency recovery program. I was able to retrieve some information but nowhere near my 50GB of information. I am extremely upset primarily for the fact that I am left to accept the fact that the device destroyed everything I had, I am out of the return period. I sincerely have never been so disappointed by a product. The least I could have is a refund but clearly, I no longer qualify.

I was looking for a rugged Portable hard drive and SP A60 exceed my expectation, i am a frequent traveler, in the bus and on the plane i take my hard drive with me, the challenge is due to frequent movement especially in public transport, i usually end up with damage drives, most time times i have to hold my hard drive in the bus to serve as a shock absorber to prevent the drive from been damage. I have traveled a couple of times with this A60 trough rugged roads and i always placed it in my luggage, what ever that is used as a shock proof is really working. Another amazing thing is the price, If not for the reviews and some you tube videos i have seen, i can never believe that a Portable hard drive with all these specification could sell so cheap. No doubt this is the best money can buy. Not to forget, if you are an attention seeker, SP A60 design is unique, its one in town

great product. I just plugged it into my ps4 and my system detected it, asked me if I wanted to use extended storage and it was set up. Transferred 450gb of data to it in 40 minutes. No sound from it to worry about and makes my system run faster as far as menus go, now that the external hard drive has freed up space for the basic programs to use from the original hard drive. Do not think you will get faster load times I have not really noticed any difference. I had issues with lagging when trying to go to the power off menu or other main menus on the ps4 due to a almost full original 500gb hd this has solved those issues for me. Dont know if others will find the same results but Im thoroughly pleased.

I rarely write reviews, but I had to because I came to buy another one of these (after 6 years of GREAT use) and I see people slandering this AMAZING hardrive. I am a content creator (vlogger) on Facebook and YouTube and thus make a lot of videos, store and access a lot of files. I travel a lot. Internationally, and I live full time in an RV. This hardrive has been to Africa, South America, Central America, Caribbean, and Mexico. It has been in a backpack, international checkout, in my purse, hanging from me laptop, and edit bays cross country. I dont abuse the device, but it has taken some bangs and has been FAITHFUL. FAITH-FULL!! I use this instead of the PC hardrive (because PC hardrives fail. But not this!) Im buying a new one because the bios drivers on my new PC crashed while I was broadcasting and corrupted this disk. Im doing data recovery and guess what? The Files are STILL THERE! I need a new drive to transfer my precious files to while I format the old drive to use again) and Im back here and see ppl speaking ill about this amazing drive?! Not on my watch! Ive dropped this, its banged against the sides of tables at coffee shops. It has fallen (and held tight to the USB cord without damaging my computer, or shorting, or weakening in any way! ). Ive lost files before with other drives. I know how fragile they can be. Thats why Im writing this review, to advise anyone who may be wondering what to get and you dont know who is a complainer or who is too easily impressed. You can choose who you want to listen to, however, I am telling you, I BROADCAST LIVE STREAMS around the WORLD with this hardrive, it accesses the files without any lag or delay, and it stands up to international travel, drops, and bangs. That is MY WORD! I dont know these other commenters (or whether they work for the competition) but I know ME! (Im a public figure). And I am telling you, this hardrive is LEGIT! This is the drive I trust my work videos and family photos on. Boom!

Ive really had a good time with this drive. Its about the size of my hand, and not very heavy. Fits very easily in my backpack and doesnt take up much space on my desk when its plugged in. I did not have to do anything to make it work for a MAC, I just went straight into using it. I switch between PC and MAC weekly, with no problem whatsoever so far. I took one star off because sometimes it doesnt want to let me eject it, and its not just one computer. It kind of scares me because this information is valuable and I cant afford to lose any of it, but I havent so far. Very nice drive! I would buy it again.

Not the fastest in the world (hence the loss of one star), but otherwise? I love this thing! Ive now had this drive for over 4 months, and I use it to store photos and ebooks that I cant keep on my laptop. I feel like I could throw this drive into the nearest puddle, and my terabyte of data would be just fine. Its easy to keep track of the USB cable with the silicone divot all around the top of the drive, and the neon green strip ensures that I can see it in my luggage, on the floor of my car, and in my purse! Thanks.

»Ive been using this drive at work and home and am very happy with its performance and design. I have the 1TB model which when formatted in Windows using NTFS ended up being 932GBs. »The outer casing consists of hard plastic and the green silicone material you can see in the photos. The green silicone is actually what is surrounding the hard drive inside, protecting it from drops and is how the suspension system works. The green silicone also has a slot that goes all the way around which is used to hold onto the included USB 3.0 cable using 2 clips. The 2 plastic pieces simply screw into each other on each side using 4 screws. The USB port has a flap in the silicone to keep it closed and free of dust when not in use. There are also 2 openings on the bottom plastic part where 2 green strips come through and provide grip on whatever surface you put it on, preventing slips. Simple and effective design for protection, grip and convenience. »There is no external powered needed for this, power it taken from the USB port on whatever device you are using it with »Copying to and from the drive was speedy and I the speeds I received when running a speed test were about what I expected for a traditional hard drive over USB 3.0. I attached a photo of my results which were 120.0MB read and 115.8MB write for sequential writes. Im not sure if Silicon Power wanted me to do this, but I did it anyways, I unscrewed the 4 screws to see what drive was inside. I know Silicon Power does not manufacture hard drives like Western Digital and Seagate do. I was hoping to find a brand name from one of the very few large drive manufacturers and I am happy to report I did. Inside is a 1TB standard Seagate laptop drive. Not some cheap white label drive, a quality brand drive. Good choice. »I have not tested the ability to survive a drop because I am actually using this on a daily basis so I am being slightly cautious. I am however throwing it into a backpack filled with things and plopping it down on a desk multiple times a day, you dont want to treat any standard hard drive with moving parts too terribly, but so far so good, no problems with performance or any strange issues. »Overall this has been a great drive for me and I recommend it to anyone looking for a more durable external drive to take on the go, if anything changes I will update this review in the future. *I received this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review, I hope this review was helpful.

This external hard drive has worked great! A great price and exactly what I needed. I pulled all my photos, music, and movies off of my laptop to save memory and they easily fit on to this 1 terabit external hard drive with plenty of memory to spare. The USB cord that comes with it does not clip in as well as shown in the photo. The tiny black plastic clips come right off. But thats relatively inconsequential overall. It is well constructed with a sturdy hard plastic outer frame. Update: I liked this so much, I purchased a second one for my wife. The hard drive is compatible with both Windows and Apple Operating Systems so no worries there either. Hope this review was helpful! Let me know if you have any questions.

Great product. Using it as an external arc drive to store my XboxOne games given that I purchased in of the early consoles with limited space. Does great as you can easily run games off the external hard drive without any hiccups in game play. Can also transfer between the XboxOne hard drive and this one quickly. This hard drive comes with a USB cable that can also be attached to 2 rubber clamps that are attached to the hard drive itself for easy transportation. Since the 4 years I’ve owned this have lost one of the little plastic clamps that keeps the USB attached for easy traveling but not a big deal
