> 3 dayGood drive. The only issue I have with this is a design flaw with the way the cord attaches for storage. It attaches by little rubber mujiggers that fit into a groove that goes along the sides of the drive. The problem is that every time I take the cord on or off to use it the stupid rubber thinga mujiggers pop out. Lucky I havent lost them yet.

> 3 dayI have purchased quite a few Silicone Power shock proof external hard drives and I couldnt be happier with them. They are extremely easy to use, have the perfect amount of storage for what I need them for and the size is very convenient for travel. Plus, I have never had any issues with the ones that have inadvertently got away from me and crashed to the floor. The armor is completely effective. The seller always gets the product out in a timely manner. Even with the current delays in deliveries all over the nation due to Covid-19 and the Christmas season, I received my latest package a day early. They are amazing.

22-11-2024So i was looking to back up my computer one day to reset and went to back up on my hard drive and guess what hard drive was broken and appeared to be dropped. Boom all that data just gone. I wasnt going to let that happen again so i was looking for a really tuff and rugged hardrive. Something that could take a beating and be some what water resistant . This was buy have the best thing i was looking for at the best price i could find. I use macbook pros and this hard drive was very easy to set up and start backing up files. A60: - Its Fast! - Rugged design, hard plastic casing with soft corner to absorb impact on drop. - Water resistance, which mean splash proof. I did not submerge it in water for this test. - I have dropped this a few times and my child has gotten a hold of it and still works great I use it about every 2 weeks without any wrinkles.

> 3 dayWell its a hard drive, not much to say right? Well I gave it 4 stars. I like it, its rugged, shock proof, water resistant, and I bring it with me on my motorcycle for transferring go-pro videos on the go. I also store movies and some songs on it for the motorcycle trips that are long and I when I need entertainment. I hook a file hub up to this device, and move the files around so I can watch movies on my Samsung Galaxy Tablet when Im out camping. My only grip is that the transfer speeds seem slow. It took me 10 minutes to transfer 3 gigabytes of a movie from my computer to this device. My computer is very fast, and has an SSD, so that leads me to believe this drive is on the slow side. None of the other 1TB drives fit my needs though, on a motorcycle you need shock proof, water resistance, and that kind of thing. So it fit the bill. Ill be happy if I get two years out of it.

> 3 dayI am extremely displeased with this product. Due to the large amount of positive reviews, I chose to ignore the few negative ones and have unfortunately suffered the same issues described in those reviews. While the overall product appearance looks to be tough and reliable, immediately after transferring all of my data to the device, about 2 weeks later my computer stopped detecting any information. Prior to that, it was working fine and I kept it plugged in to my brand new desktop. After a couple of days of no success, I brought it in to my work IT specialist who advised that the device was non-responsive with multiple warnings that in order to use the device, I would need to format the disk. Clearly this was not an option since I had already backed up my lifes storage on this device. He explained that unfortunately we would need to format it and then run an emergency recovery program. I was able to retrieve some information but nowhere near my 50GB of information. I am extremely upset primarily for the fact that I am left to accept the fact that the device destroyed everything I had, I am out of the return period. I sincerely have never been so disappointed by a product. The least I could have is a refund but clearly, I no longer qualify.

> 3 dayI am very accident prone and so is the rest of my family. I have another external hard drive that I bought years ago, but with the many times that I have dropped it, or it getting pushed off the counter, it is falling apart. I bought this one hoping it will stay intact through our rough lifestyles and it has proven itself already! We have dropped it a few times already, from a low height, and it has held up! Great investment since I do not want to loose my thousands of pictures!

Greater than one weekgreat product. I just plugged it into my ps4 and my system detected it, asked me if I wanted to use extended storage and it was set up. Transferred 450gb of data to it in 40 minutes. No sound from it to worry about and makes my system run faster as far as menus go, now that the external hard drive has freed up space for the basic programs to use from the original hard drive. Do not think you will get faster load times I have not really noticed any difference. I had issues with lagging when trying to go to the power off menu or other main menus on the ps4 due to a almost full original 500gb hd this has solved those issues for me. Dont know if others will find the same results but Im thoroughly pleased.

> 3 day»Ive been using this drive at work and home and am very happy with its performance and design. I have the 1TB model which when formatted in Windows using NTFS ended up being 932GBs. »The outer casing consists of hard plastic and the green silicone material you can see in the photos. The green silicone is actually what is surrounding the hard drive inside, protecting it from drops and is how the suspension system works. The green silicone also has a slot that goes all the way around which is used to hold onto the included USB 3.0 cable using 2 clips. The 2 plastic pieces simply screw into each other on each side using 4 screws. The USB port has a flap in the silicone to keep it closed and free of dust when not in use. There are also 2 openings on the bottom plastic part where 2 green strips come through and provide grip on whatever surface you put it on, preventing slips. Simple and effective design for protection, grip and convenience. »There is no external powered needed for this, power it taken from the USB port on whatever device you are using it with »Copying to and from the drive was speedy and I the speeds I received when running a speed test were about what I expected for a traditional hard drive over USB 3.0. I attached a photo of my results which were 120.0MB read and 115.8MB write for sequential writes. Im not sure if Silicon Power wanted me to do this, but I did it anyways, I unscrewed the 4 screws to see what drive was inside. I know Silicon Power does not manufacture hard drives like Western Digital and Seagate do. I was hoping to find a brand name from one of the very few large drive manufacturers and I am happy to report I did. Inside is a 1TB standard Seagate laptop drive. Not some cheap white label drive, a quality brand drive. Good choice. »I have not tested the ability to survive a drop because I am actually using this on a daily basis so I am being slightly cautious. I am however throwing it into a backpack filled with things and plopping it down on a desk multiple times a day, you dont want to treat any standard hard drive with moving parts too terribly, but so far so good, no problems with performance or any strange issues. »Overall this has been a great drive for me and I recommend it to anyone looking for a more durable external drive to take on the go, if anything changes I will update this review in the future. *I received this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review, I hope this review was helpful.

22-11-2024This external hard drive has worked great! A great price and exactly what I needed. I pulled all my photos, music, and movies off of my laptop to save memory and they easily fit on to this 1 terabit external hard drive with plenty of memory to spare. The USB cord that comes with it does not clip in as well as shown in the photo. The tiny black plastic clips come right off. But thats relatively inconsequential overall. It is well constructed with a sturdy hard plastic outer frame. Update: I liked this so much, I purchased a second one for my wife. The hard drive is compatible with both Windows and Apple Operating Systems so no worries there either. Hope this review was helpful! Let me know if you have any questions.
