This is another of those products that provides a straightforward function without clutter. It does not come with elaborate backup software, but I view that as a major plus. A lot of hard drive backup programs are so helpful, they make it almost impossible to do anything except for exactly what the software wants you to do, making it hard for you to exercise some free will on how you use the drive. This drive allows you to use all of the capacity, however you want to use it. If you are just a little bit comfortable using a file manager program, this hard drive provides plenty of space to put your files, and flexibility to do it however you wish. It works flawlessly with just the power from the USB plug, and the included cable is a big plus - no digging around to find it. Luckily I have not had to test any of the ruggedness features, but it certainly appears to be well built and sturdy enough for whatever you throw at it.

Recognized instantly by laptop and able to write. Easily formatted for exFat larger files. A little dissapointed in the cable attachment as the small holders easily pop out and get lost. I got this specifically so that whenever I grabbed it the cable would be there.

I kinda enjoyed it until the cord gave out. I think because the cord is so short caused a shortage or some type defect to wear it doesnt work anymore. Hopefully when my new cord comes tomorrow itll work . fingers crossed

This works beautifully and is so light and compact. I only have one very minor complaint. The part that attaches the cord to the actual device pops off very easily. I wish that the connecting part was actually a part of the overall device.

So far this portable hard drive seems good. I am not sure it is as rugged as they say as when I squeeze it a little hard the plastic has some give to it. I like the way the cord stores around the side. Writing to the disk is a little slow, but that is somewhat common in drives without external power. It is a nice compact size and light. There is rubber around the sides / and a little on the back which is good for drops. Mostly I am using it as a hard drive I can throw in a bag and take it back and forth to work, and this seems to fit the bill. I would recommend for anyone who needs a solid decently priced hard drive.

This is my second one. Sits right next to my first one, you know, the one I bought when I thought 1TB was all the spare room anyone would need. I was wrong so I got another one and its 3/4 full. Next up is a 3TB and well see how long that one lasts. Get the USB 3 if your computer can handle it. I cant imagine what Id do if I only had USB 2. Ive never had the opportunity/misfortune to test the Rugged Armor part of the drive and frankly dont want to, but as they say its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

As expected from other reviews, the rubber clips supposedly holding the usb cable popped off as soon as I detached the cable - I put a rubber band around the drive to hold the cable, and that works much better than the clips. Otherwise, it worked as advertised. I transferred some business files so Id have another copy of them, and that worked. I just got the drive today, havent dropped it, havent had water soak it, just transferred some sensitive files, so I cant give you any long term usage results. Will come back & comment should anything exceptional or disastrous happen, otherwise its a good functioning hard drive. .

Ive really had a good time with this drive. Its about the size of my hand, and not very heavy. Fits very easily in my backpack and doesnt take up much space on my desk when its plugged in. I did not have to do anything to make it work for a MAC, I just went straight into using it. I switch between PC and MAC weekly, with no problem whatsoever so far. I took one star off because sometimes it doesnt want to let me eject it, and its not just one computer. It kind of scares me because this information is valuable and I cant afford to lose any of it, but I havent so far. Very nice drive! I would buy it again.

Color is nice. I dont like the cord holders. They are sharp to the hands. I took them off. The speed is 30% less than my 500GB Silicon Power orange version. Both are 5400 rpm, so I dont know why. Im talking about making system images for Linux and Windows. Also slower to copy paste 18GB mixed files from a fast SSD.

Bought this to use with MP3s in the car audio system (Ford Sync). Came preformatted with FAT32, which is what the system needed to see. Worked like a champ. Have about 150 Gig of MP3s and have had no problem playing them. Pros - LED (when drive is connected) will indicate whether connected to USB 2 or 3 by color. Non-skid strips on bottom and bumper around drive. Cons - while it is called a rugged armor drive, the LED shines thru the plastic shell so it cant be that rugged. Shell has a little flex to it also. Seems to be a good drive so far.
