Bought to secure a flip house. Was planning to keep it but now it will stay with the house. One example: told me I didnt have to have internet then next person said I dont know why they would have said that . One more: free two months of monitoring. Then I have to call for tech support and they say no it only shows one...really now its three months because I was going to just return the stupid thing. Terrible experience

Okay so we’ve had this up and running now about 3 months and so far 4 window mounts have fallen off the glue or sticky tape dries out fast we’ve stuck them to windows and left them and yeah they don’t stick long. I absolutely love this company and the system it’s so easy to install and put together but the glue or tape to hold up the devices on windows and doors is awful.

Charging me $10 a month despite me choosing the option NOT to monitor when setting it up. No email verifying subscription or a free trial or anything. You can’t cancel subscription on the app or their website. Their initial email said to ask if questions, but when you try to cancel by replying the email bounces back!! You must call to cancel - that makes no sense in this era except that they are trying to get as much money as possible. Optional monitoring? I think not. No, no, just no! Stay away!

The major complaint that I have is that they advertise no hidden costs but then when you attempt to set up monitoring with notifications, you have to pay at least $9.99/month. Deceptive.

SETUP IMPROVEMENTS -Computer no longer needed for adding sensors. -Sensors can be named now. You can easily pick from a common named list or key in the name you want. The old system did have a way to name them, but it was limited to premium plans. -Test buttons can be pushed to add sensors rather than manually typing in serial numbers for each sensor. KEYPAD Keypad setup is the biggest improvement in the system. The old system required a computer setup that utilized a USB fob for programming and transferring the data to the base station. The fob is now gone from the setup. All the setup for the sensors can be done directly from the keypad. The key pad also has an panic button added to the top of it. The keypad doesnt have a touch screen, but it has a button at each side to make for more intuitive user navigation through the prompts. The sensor names now display when they are triggered. The old system only displayed the serial numbers which I found aggravating. This is one of my favorite improvements. SENSORS The sensors are much smaller which I think is important to people. I know I was talking to a guy that bought a competing product a couple years ago instead of the previous version of SimpliSafe solely on the fact that he didnt like the size of the SimpliSafe Sensors. These are a great improvement. BATTERIES -The base station uses A/C power, but has a AA batteries for a backup during power loss. Same as old system. -The keypad uses AA batteries. Same as old system. -Motion Sensor CR123A batteries (camera battery). Same as old system. -Entry sensors use CR2032 batteries (size of Nickel). These used to be CR123A batteries in the old system. This change has allowed the sensors to be much smaller. Im usually able to find these Nickel sized batteries cheaper than the camera batteries which is a nice change as well. Im not sure if there is any loss in the amount of time they will last though.

I love this security system. My son had this up and running in about 15 minutes. I highly recommend this to anyone. You can use this system with or without monitoring. It even has a chime for when you go in and out of the doorways. The only reason I didnt rate Tech support was because my son took care of everything for me.

I know it’s a security system and I think it notifies the police? But there’s a chance it doesn’t as the only time it was set off, I never received a phone call. Worries me a little bit. Also, I see this and think “smart home” when I think “smart security system” I think of a system that will tell you which door opened, what window opened, where motion was seen and part of me expects the system to be integrated with Alexa for routines. For example, “when the front door opens, turn on living room light.” I don’t see this as a smart home accessory by any means. All Alexa can do is arm or disarm, and Alexa’s glass breaking monitoring can’t set off the alarm so I have to buy a second device to listen for glass? And a second doorbell camera? A second smart lock? It wouldn’t be that bad if it did anything else I had hoped it did. Unfortunately, as of now, the only kudos I can give is that it’s easy to install and the daily reminders are a huge help.

This system is great and affordable, I’ve been using it for about a year. I wanted to add a doorbell, but recently discovered that they DO NOT MAKE wireless doorbells. This was extremely disappointing. Now I will need to purchase a whole new system with a wireless doorbell.

Horrible customer service! It doesn’t do anything more than the stuff you can get at the hardware store. This system is a waste of time trying to drain money out of your pocket
