The major complaint that I have is that they advertise no hidden costs but then when you attempt to set up monitoring with notifications, you have to pay at least $9.99/month. Deceptive.

Away from our vacation home for extended periods, we rely on the simplysafe system to operate however, its gone offline twice requiring updates which can only be performed in person.. so consequently the system isnt protecting the property or at least I cant communicate with it ??? not very reliable

Not able to set up. Poor customer support.

First off, I am using this system as a standalone system. I am not using the service plan recommended and am instead using as an added system to my current setup. Installation was extremely easy, however I do recommend forgoing the included adhesive pads for mounting and instead use small screws. Everything I stuck to either the doors or frame fell off within a few hours, and even the control panel suffered a slight fall. System is easy to setup, and easy to use. The included base station isnt horribly intrusive to the look of the room you place it in, and is fairly loud for the door chime sound. I have yet to set off the alarm, but other reviewers state that it can possibly wake the dead so if you live near a cemetery id have a shovel handy. I have not been able to observe the motion sensor functioning, but that may be because it is really only used when the system is armed. As a standalone system, this functions well.

It was so easy to install and operate. Have it on my ph and I love it. Wish Id had it years before.

Just received my new SimpliSafe system. Installation was smooth although the manual shows that the motion sensors should be installed 4 to 5 feet higher but after speaking to support, it can be higher, around 6 feet. I wished I knew that since its hard to remove once its stuck to the wall. The system also warned that and entry is open although the app shows everything is ok and closed. We have a 15 to 20 lb dog that triggers the motion sensors so we end up just using the Home option vs Away. Support was ok but i spoke to 2 different person and both yawned on the call which is not a big deal to me The 2 support individuals I spoke to were not so confident in their answers. The person I spoke to struggled to explain the difference between Home and Away. I called technical support but when I asked a question that I assumed the support person did not know the answer I was directed to the support page on the SimpliSafe website. I like the potential and its a good system and inexpensive MRC but leaves a lot for improvement.

Why are they skipping one big reason why I won’t buy this If u arm the system , and the alarm goes off I would like to a direct call from the system to inform me that the alarm is going off without paying anything Just like I smart

...when I decided to look at the monitoring features one more time. I only then realized that you have to pay for their premium service at $24/month in order to have any worthwhile functionality. At that price, I can get ADT, which I canceled because I think youre getting virtually nothing in return for WAY too much money. Here you buy the equipment AND have to pay for a very expensive service.
