> 3 daywas recommended to buy this from a friend and am so glad i got it. i brought this to my family gathering and everyone loved it! i watched a few videos how to play before bringing it out and it’s fairly easy to learn. it’s all strategy, takes about 30-60 min per game, and can be played w 2-4 players. was also not expecting the quality of the packaging to look so nice. would definitely make a great gift as well.

> 3 dayThis game is a fun strategy game. A different outcome each time. Once you figure out how to play, you start your strategy at the beginning, but that strategy will change a few times during the game.

Greater than one weekVery fun game, it’s quick, easy to learn, not a million pieces or steps, and involves some thinking. The pieces are well made and I didn’t have issues with mine that some others had. I played it the first day 6 times, with both 2, 3, and 4 people. Each time was a lot of fun! Edit to update: Have had the game a few years and it’s held up well. I have made a couple changes to the games rules as needed. Play to 21 instead of 15 and you’ll have enough time to utilize the top row. When playing to only 15 points it can often remain untouched. Also if you want to play with 5 players just decrease token limit in your hand to 8, add one more noble, and one more face-up card per row. This game plays easily with 5 using these adjustments.

> 3 dayThis is a great game, but the games box had to be taped up. Im guessing thats why it was on sale, because it was damaged. They should have just sold it as damaged instead of tricking me into thinking I was buying a new product. Inside the box everything looks fine. Just wish I didnt have to tape up a brand new product.

> 3 dayWhile I was concerned it might be a bit too dry to have staying power, Splendor has turned into a staple filler (i.e. less than 20 minute) and gateway game. While its a bit pricey for what it is, the pleasure of the solid poker-style chips tends to make up for that. The game can be taught in two minutes and works just as well with 2,3 or 4 players, though weve noticed it can become much more tactical with 2 players. The object of the game is to collect the most valuable set of gems/mines/production cards. The game ends on any round that a player hits 15 points, but with each player getting an equal number of turns, the player that triggers the end, may not be the winner. A players turn is simple. They have three choices: 1) Collect different colored chips 2) Use chips to purchase cards or 3) Reserve a card for future purchase and gain a wild card chip. The cards represent the different stages of the gem production process with more expensive cards being worth more points. You can then use collected cards to replace chips when purchasing future cards. Its also possible to gain more points by currying favor with special royalty figures. You do this by collecting specific combinations of cards.

Greater than one weekI’m addicted to this game! I like that it’s quick and easy to set up and easy to learn. But strategic thinking is required. Game play is about 30 mins with 2 players. Don’t know yet how it translates into a larger player game.

> 3 dayI love playing Splendor! It is an easy game to learn. We have played it with our kids. Our 7-year old loves it! There is some strategy associated with the game, and I dont think it is for all ages. It is a great family game! The rules state that the object is to get to 15 points. We have played that way, but our favorite way to play is to play until all the cards are purchased. The person with the most points wins. It is a fun variation!
