> 3 dayIts a simple strategy game that doesnt take a lot of time. The goal of the game is to get victory points buy buying gems and cards. Its simple and fun. Its a similar and simpler version of Dominion, in a way. It is a super fun game. We play with all of our friends and family often. Its great for 2 people, 3, or 4. I need to get more coins so we can play with even more people.

> 3 dayWe love this game! The only thing is that the game instructions are very ambiguous for the visiting nobles-you kind of have to come up with your own rules there. Its fun for 2, 3 or 4 people, which is nice that it is just as fun with 2 players as it is with 4 players.

> 3 dayI love this game. It is really hard to find games that can be adapted well for 2 players but this one definitely does it well! It is a little like chess in that you should be planning a few moves ahead. Its even more fun with more people. The rules are super easy. You can either collect gems on your turn or you can buy. The gems you collect are considered the money to buy cards. Once you own a card you also add the gem of the card to your money instead of getting rid of it like the gem tokens you collect. The cards are also worth the victory points. Super simple and well adapted for 2 players.

> 3 daySplendor is currently very popular and for good reason. Its just a lot of fun. Players can pick up the basics really quickly but can also develop strategies as they become more familiar with it. And, unlike some other games that run for hours, Splendor moves much more quickly so that you can get in a few games or use it to add some variety to game night. I recently introduced it to an adult learning class on contemporary board games and it was a huge hit. Several people ordered the game for themselves soon afterwards. If no one in your group knows how to play, you can certainly pick it up by reading the directions but there are also some very good introductory videos on YouTube. The price point is reasonable so go ahead and try it!

> 3 dayThis is my favorite game ever and I bought it so I could stop harassing my friends to borrow their copies. Wonderful easy game, I lose 85% of the time, but I love playing it so much!

Greater than one weekOK, I dont love this game. But I gave it 5 stars because the four other people in my family do. My husband and kids play it all the time. Theres a lot of logic and strategy in this game, but its not so complex that my 7, 9 and 11 year old cant hold their own. The pace is very different when you play with 4 players or when you play with two. Each kid has won, which makes it interesting for all. Its unusual to have a game where my 7 year old can beat my husband, but my husband still really likes the game (and still wins often). Players basically take turns either collecting coins or spending them, and some of the cards you can buy can serve as currency as well. It takes a game or two to get the hang of the rules, but its worth it.

19-11-2024This is a seriously light game. I cannot explain it, but I really love it. Splendor is the most simplified version of an engine building game out there. In the beginning, you cant afford anything. While playing, you get more powerful and use the gems you bought to but more powerful gems. There are some strategies that will win over others almost every time, but there is enough luck left in the game that any new player could potentially beat a seasoned player. Anyway, not only is it fun, but it is fast. If you know what you are doing, it can finish in less than 30 minutes, and very often, we decide to play again right away. Now, this belongs in the Play with the family category. I would not bring this with me to a board game night with my friends. You might, and your friends might thank you for it, but for us, this game is a waaaay far on the simple side to spend game night on. Also, there is another game called Century: Spice Road which I think is a bit more fun and feels a lot like this game. They are different enough to have both in your collection.
