> 3 dayI have worn out 2 ball winders. The gears start to slip. This is by far the better built ball winder. It makes perfect cakes.

> 3 dayUPDATED with 3 weeks use: If you wind yarn from a swift with a little Royal plastic ball winder, consider this but dont expect neat cakes. (Keep your Royal for 4oz/100g or less hanks!) If you buy $$$ yarn, you want to store it neat and not in danger of coming apart.

Greater than one weekThe large yarn winder is very sturdy and works like a dream. Dont understand the physics, but it hasnt sent any cake off the spindle while Im winding?

Greater than one weekI have not even had this 24 hours and I have done a ton of things of various types of yarn. I looked at quite a few before deciding on this because it was expensive, but it was a large one. I am so thankful i got this 10oz and not the 4oz. Highly recommend.

> 3 dayI had a ball winder from a large online knitting retailer prior to this one, and I thought it was fine, although as it aged, I got more and more frustrated every time I wanted to wind a hank of yarn. I just figured that was to be expected - who enjoys winding yarn? But this one is amazing! The cakes are consistent; the winding is smooth and effortless. Its really a pleasure to wind yarn now... as long as the hank isnt tangled.

> 3 daySo sturdy and easy to use! I dont have any fears of this breaking (especially when my partner winds for me and he really cranks it!).

> 3 dayI love this yarn winder. I have one, and bought a second as a gift for another yarn hoarder. I love that it can wind 10 oz easily. Its quiet, smooth and doesnt take up a ton of space. You could easily put it away if you wanted to, but mine just stays attached to my craft table. Worth every penny!
