As others have already mentioned, installation can be a pain. 1. The unit protrudes out the window too far, hitting the screen. This causes it to not sit properly on the window sill. I could remove the screen but this is just an invitation for mosquitoes to be sucked in. 2. The foam pieces are not sized properly to cover the gap on the sides and at the top. Included with the unit are two 4 in. pieces, two 2 in. pieces, and two 1 in. pieces. So if the gap is exactly on the inch mark, such as 4,5,6 etc. these work fine. but if you need 1/2 in. more, youre out of luck. I had to use a box cutter to cut down a 1 in. piece This is dangerous as the foam is hard to cut. You also might be able to use double sided tape. 3. A foam pad has been added to the top of the unit where the window comes down on the unit, not a bad idea. But the foam pieces were sized to the top of the unit before the foam was added. This makes for a sloppy fit. 4. Operation is confusing. There is a power indicator, but it does not indicate that the unit is on or off. It only shows that the unit is plugged into a power outlet. The control panel has to be woken up before you can do anything else. It only stays awake for a very short period of time before it goes to sleep again. Having said that. I love this unit. The fan is quiet, and is easy to control. It maintains the desired temperature. This used in my bedroom and the window is next to the bed.

Very happy with the product and this purchase. Low noise levels and air output is fine. Fits perfectly in my window using included blocks. Absolutely no complaints. I have double hung windows and use a window wedge to ensure the fan and blocks are nice, snug and secure.

Contrary to what some reviewers claim, this fan absolutely works with screened windows. It is super easy to install and works well - we have one in our master bedroom and it pulls a nice breeze through. I only wish it offered a higher volume of air (more CFM), and were Alexa-compatible. I see that there was a smart variant of this fan available from Vornado and I hope they bring it back. However it isnt perfect; the power cable comes out of the chassis at the bottom of the unit and interferes with the mounting pad, so you need to resort to crushing the cable. I suspect that after a sufficiently large number of install/removal cycles this does present a risk of short and possible fire hazard. The exit point for the power cord really should be moved completely away from the mounting pad. I am deducting two stars for this because there will inevitably be some person who will not notice this issue and will sever the cord causing a short in their house. This is a design and manufacturing flaw which should by all rights result in a recall of this fan. Since I am aware of the issue and take care to hold the cord out of the way and will drill a new hole and reroute the cord if/when the insulation starts to show signs of fatigue/wear, I am comfortable using the fan, but many people would never even notice the cord is being stressed at the mounting pad on the sash, and run into problems.

This works great. Good privacy, decent air flow, not fugly. Only issue I have is that it doesnt have any flex in its temp control. This means if youre right on the edge itll turn itself on and off constantly unless you shut it down or turn off the temp control. Annoying if youre actually in the room, but not insurmountable.

Got my fan today; I was very excited to take my big, bulky box fan out of the window. I was very disappointed to discover this fan doesnt blow nearly as hard. Auto mode on/off , didnt matter. Im disappointed. this was 100 bucks and my box fan was 20.

By far this is the best window fan I have ever owned. Quiet enough to run all night while sleeping, sets up easily, has multiple speeds, reverses direction with a touch of a button, looks good and even has a nice simple remote. Another overlooked feature is that when turned off, the fan mechanism rotates to a closed position to block air coming in or out. I have seen other reviews say it costs too much but you get what you pay for. This fan blows away the competition.

My 7 month old is getting more sensitive to light. The layers of fabric over the windows keeps getting thicker. It’s summertime and the sun stays out much later than the winter so his 7pm bedtime was getting harder. It was hot in the room. I needed a fan that would let in as little light as possible. This fan is perfect for us. We don’t have to use an AC because we live in the mountains. It does let in a small amount of light but it’s very minimal. If your kiddo needs 100% blackout then a window fan will most likely not work for you. This is the closest to blackout in the market! Would absolutely buy again. Like so many other reviews I wish it came with a few more spacers to fill out gap between the unit and the window frame.

Fan installation was easy, battery for remote was dead, deleted a star for that. Window sealing spacers are the best Ive ever used, phenomenal material. Set it and forget it display plus minimal window opening for installation, happy with purchase thus far.

I just purchased this fan for a bathroom window, where I often sneak a cigarette instead of going outside when Im busy working and short on time or if it is miserably cold or hot outside. The fan is attractive and the spacers to seal the gaps on the sides worked well for me (but are not air-tight). (I have 10-yr old Pella vinyl windows with screens.). The reversible air flow option is convenient and works just ok. However, in the exhaust mode, when strong winds blow against the fan from outside, the outside air still pushes past the fans and into the room even on the highest exhaust speed. When the fan is in the OFF position, it is advertised that the fan automatically goes into Closed Mode. The accuracy of this statement by the seller is of questionable accuracy. It is true that when the fan is turned off, the fan blades close in on themselves; however, this does NOT close the fan from in/out air flow. There are uncloseable gaps around the fan blades allowing wind, outside smells (car exhaust), and pollen to blow into the room. The fan is easily installed, but it is not meant to be taken in and out simply with each use to combat this problem. The idea is nice and might be more functional in temperate climates, but in Atlanta, it gets HOT and I will not be able to leave this in the window in the window anytime outside of the few weeks of fall we get. Other than the mediocre exhaust fan power, it is not a whole lot different than just leaving a window open given the inability to close the vents. I would not have expected to pay anything more than $45 for this product rather than the $100 price tag.

For starters, I never received the instructions in the box. Although, I think the unit was brand new, and never used. I think it was probably a return, and was being resold as new. Just my thoughts, because of the lack of instructions and the ability to send in a warranty card. I hope this last long time and it remains safe. Also, the remote is not working. How would I ever contact customer service? This bothers me a lot but I love the concept and it is working for me right now. I would like to have a new remote , that works.
