> 3 dayi ordered this laptop for a hopefully long lasting product, but its just unbearable, the fan stated acting up my first month of use, it has constant random reboots, and now the keys are fading away

> 3 dayI needed to replace an older Acer where the keyboard failed (my own fault). Ive pretty much liked Acer in general - they arent the first brand you think of, but Ive had good luck with mine. This one is very light and quiet (no hard drive noise). The battery life is excellent. Im a little worried about the keyboard and how it will hold up, but its not much different than my old keyboard. I dont do any gaming or high-intensity graphics, so I cant speak to how it will perform under those conditions, but it does run my Cura slicer just fine and works very well for browsing and office applications.

> 3 dayThe laptop is very light, and speed is quite decent. It wont break speed record, especially on battery power. It throttle down to conserve power which is reasonable. Some users commented about fan noise - I think it is when the laptop is on AC and not on a power budget, the CPU runs at higher speed that generate more heat. It is trade-off for a thin-and-light laptop. Perfectly understandable.

> 3 dayI actually love this laptop and it is fast and light and works great for movie editing and handling large files with 16 GB RAM and it easily outperforms my older generation i7 machine. The only real downside to this and most new laptops is lack of USB I/O ports and card readers so to use this the way I want I ordered a USB C multiport adapter that should handle all my needs. Screen quality is fine, but I primarily use this laptop attached to a larger monitor, keyboard and mouse like a portable desktop PC and it handles those demands well so far. Only time will tell on battery life. Initially quite good.

> 3 dayI purchased this laptop a few months ago, and it was great except for one problem-- the port where the AC adapter plugs into the computer is too loose. It does not stay plugged in. The slightest movement will make it pull just a millimeter or so out of the port, at which point it beeps and stops charging. It took me a few days to figure out why the laptop was constantly beeping, and a few weeks to realize the seriousness of the issue. At first I just thought I wasn’t pushing the plug in securely enough, but it soon became clear that it was a defect with the port. I Googled and found that others had had similar experiences with the loose port, so I contacted Acer and chatted with a rep. They had me try several different things, none of which worked, and I contacted them a second time to chat with another rep. This time, they sent me a new AC cord, but this did not solve the problem either-- the cord is fine, it’s the port on the laptop that doesn’t hold it securely. Since some posters online had mentioned that ordering a generic AC cord from Amazon created a better fit, I decided to try this option, figuring that $15 was worth it if I didn’t have to spend more time on this problem. Unfortunately, that did not work either, and the problem has gotten worse. The computer will now only charge if I find a “sweet spot” by holding the plug in place and moving it around in a circle until the charging icon shows up, then keeping it in that position by propping something against it, which doesn’t always work. I contacted Acer a third time, and was told that I needed to send the laptop in for repair, at my expense, and that the turnaround time was 15-20 days. I asked if they could instead replace the product given the amount of time I’d already spent trying to deal with it and the documented history of chats with Acer reps on the same issue. They refused, and also threatened that if the damage was discovered to be caused by something I had done, the repair would not be covered. I’m an honest person-- I did not damage the port. I wish I had realized sooner the seriousness of the issue, but I’m very disappointed that Acer is refusing to stand behind their product. As I informed Acer, I am a high-school teacher who is currently teaching remotely several days a week, and I simply cannot be without a computer for close to a month. I will have to keep fiddling with this cord and hope it doesn’t stop charging the computer altogether until I can eventually buy another laptop. It’s extremely disappointing that a company would choose not to replace a defective product for a teacher during the Covid pandemic. I will never buy this brand again.

> 3 dayAll the keys light up except for the space bar which is really annoying considering that I now have to carry a defective laptop for college and have no time to waste on replacement until some Holliday break.

> 3 daySeveral keys on the keyboard stopped working. Seems like a common Acer problem. Tried many recommendations, usually involving uninstalling drivers and re installing them. Unfortunately nothing seems to work. I got this computer for my daughter for college. She is still using it but has to lug around an external keyboard to use this laptop. I wouldnt recommend this laptop since I havent found a way to resolve this issue.
