I know is pricey, could be big for some users but this is a life changer. I was continuously having coverage and speed problems in my house with my wifi. The iMesh technology works, it really works. I bought this with a Lyra trio access points and all those problems are gone. I have a 100 Mbps internet connection and the Speedtest shows in most of the house 100Mbps. If you have coverage and stability problems you should co coder this product, specially when today our home is school, work, gym center, etc.

Had a Security problem with my older Netgear router. It would allow access from the WAN to reset the router. Discovered this after it had done it twice to me. Reported to Netgear and they started asking for my WAN IP... and way too much more. So I realized it time to try something different.

I thought it was going to be a good upgrade and it turns out it was an amazing upgrade!

Wanted to go with the Wi Fi 6 standard and add Aimesh system. Ive been using an Asus RT AC-68u router for several years and been very happy with it. After installing new RT ax-88u router and setting it up, the old router got moved into an outbuilding, set up as an Aimesh. All works wonderfully - no problems. Im used to the Asus firmware menu, so things went fairly smoothly. Speed for phones and tablets definitely increased in the 5G band, even though theyre AC Wi Fi 5 devices.

Have to admit, Im not a tech genius. My level of intelligence in that area is google. On that note, I can easily look things up and set even this complex unit to work well for a home of three gamers. That number can rise if friends come over with Laptops and hook in. This works better for me, than the alternative unit provided by the Internet Provider because it supports the speeds I signed up for as well as actually delivering them to multiple units. The mesh network of the IP was sluggish in comparison. While to most that wont matter. It was only by a slight factor that isnt really noticeable once you start getting into Gigabyte download and VASTLY superior uploads. For my situation, it does, and this was a well worth it to purchase.

Upgraded from a Netgear router that was getting a little old in the tooth (maybe about 7 years old). Very impressed with features and user interface controls of the router and the mobile app. Very intuitive and informative. There are still a bunch of more advanced features that are not clearly explained enough to know what choices to make. Also a bunch of advanced settings that are supposed to improve performance like QoS, large frames, etc. are NOT enabled by default. I like the network map that provides a good overview of all my devices, how they are connected and various other parameters. I am very happy with the purchase and also like the option using AiMesh to extend coverage if needed in the future. Thumbs up!

If you do decide to use the built-in AI protection feature to secure your network, be aware that all of your traffic is analyzed by ASUS and possibly their third party partners. So, any live traffic is going to be scanned and your private information could possibly be sold to 3rd party agencies. This is an optional feature, and they do show you a TOS now (before they didnt). So, use your own judgement before enabling the AI Protection feature.

The router delivers excellent stability and speed. It runs perfectly with all my busy DS918+ NAS, desktops and a number of mobile devices. No lags happened while my desktop was uploading stuffs to my NAS and playing an online game at the same time.

Excellent speed, lots of raw power, no issues. Note that I use Merlins firmware instead of the default, and highly recommend that for more features and stability. My old AC88U was great as well, but I couldnt pull 1 gig speeds without this upgrade.

Super easy to install. Range/coverage is unbeleivable. I dont have any wifi6 clients yet, so I cannot really tell how much performance improvement there is.
