> 3 dayGreat router, I have nothing to bad to say about it. I have been trying to get this router for a decent price for a while. I finally was able to buy it, but something sketchy is happening here. I pretty sure I purchased this brand new. But somehow i bought this used. I received it thinking it was sealed by the manufacturer, but it was just scotched taped up. And there was a sticker on it with Amazon marketplace. Granted it looks new and everything, but i am not comfortable, that amazon was misleading me in buying a new router and end up getting a Used one. I would give this a 5 star, but really sketch up switching it up. I never saw on the site it was used when i decided to buy it. SO SKETCHY.

Greater than one weekLoaded Merlin , Diversion, SkyNet put my DGW210-700 fiber (1gig service) modem in passthrough, everything is Humming, recieved in in one day just as promised.... Check all 8 LAN Ports (OK) Wan Port (OK) both 2.4 & 5 Ghz Radios (OK) didnt see much inprovement speed wise to AT&T speedtest, the RT-AC86U worked as good as the RT-AX88u except the RT-AC86u was running a little low on free memory , but SWAP file takes care of that.... AX88u has one gig, the AC86u has 512mb memory.... AC86u more cost effective..

> 3 dayJust love this router . I got this ASUS router to upgrade my Netgear R7000. It is blazing fast and very easy to install it. I highly recommend this router.

> 3 dayI bought this AX88U during the pandemic, to provide faster better wifi coverage at home. I replaced my old router, connected to gigabit fiber ethernet service, and found that every 2 weeks or so the internet connection dropped, and only restarting the router fixed the problem. I blamed the problem initially on my VPN service provider, which was running openvpn from the router. But working with them, it became apparent that my ISP, every 2 weeks or so, performs a DHCP release, and the AX88U does not reconnect. My old Netgear router does. Searching internet, I see lots of other people have this problem, and ASUS has not fixed it; or worse they blame the ISP. So dont bother buying this router, unless you just want to run it as in access point mode (which does not have DHCP running).

> 3 dayWayy over priced. Over 250USD MSRP on their site. It works as advertised, but I got gouged badly.

> 3 dayThis thing is rock solid. Seriously. Coming from a Netgear Nighthawk R9000 that would constantly drop signal, this RTAX88U is a big win. More ports, AX wifi for future devices, and holy cow the interface is night and day compared to Netgears. Would recommend in a heartbeat.
