Ive tried out many (5+) different routers (priced between $200 and $500) lately in order to find one that can handle my house (not that big, ~2000sqft, but lots of interference and walls).

A network is always as fast(or slow) as the fastest equipment , including the cables. I was paying for 1000 Mbps down/up on my fiber optic network so when I got this router I also got 2 Cat8 network cables. During installation instead of using the supplied network cable that came with his router I used one of those to plug the router to my fiber optic network. Now I’m finally getting both download & upload speeds in the 900s Mbps for physically connected devices but even my iPhone 13 got the numbers above in the pic and it doesn’t even support WiFi 6. Great product!

Great replacement for my older Asus router. Lots of new features plus much better performance.

This router is an upgrade for a ASUS RT-AC87U, which has been flawless for 10 years. This ASUS obviously has more features than the old one. I use VPN client, NAT, FW, DHCP reservation, adaptive QoS, Port Forwarding, and DMZ for our home internet. All those features are a breeze to setup, and if you have issues or questions the clickable on-line help links are invaluable. Also since my first ASUS router, there are dozens of youtubes out there now to help out in case you dont like reading :)

The router is effective for a 5000 SF house, but could not activate a Blink flood light with camera 100+ feet away from house. Cable provider Spectrum provided NC for a more powerful router which works fine for the Blink device and two other outdoor cameras for security.

I owned an older model of Asus and was using range extenders. I bought this one and changed the old to AiMesh and have been quite happy. It works as a single network (no more multiple SSID) and I now have strong signal everywhere. Very easy to use web admin as well.

This product has a lot of features and since Im used to Asus products, this was a natural upgrade for me. Having 8 wired ports is nice because of all the devices you can hook up to it. The problem though is that on day 1, ports 5-8 was actually not functioning. After about an hour perusing thru various forums, I found that you just need to unplug the power and wait for about 5 minutes before plugging it back in. That solved that issue, but it does leave a bad first impression.
