14-06-2025I was hesitant to get this one because there were so many much more expensive options. Also saw a few reviews showing the ink cartridges not working, etc. Took my chances anyway and so far no issues! Did notice that after I pushed in the ink cartridges during setup, it asked me to push the click button down to release and then click the ink back in. This made the printer recognize the cartridges and it worked just fine. I did not have to install any software or anything to get my work laptop to find the printer via wifi. Honestly setup took maybe 15 minutes. I’m not planning to print photos or anything. Just general work information here or there so as long as this keeps working it’s exactly what I needed.

> 3 dayWas easy to set up and I started printing right away. It’s very easy to operate with the app icons that the driver downloads. The only downside was that it did not include the cable to attach to the computer as it boasts and encourages wireless connection. I had one from previous printer so it was all good.

Greater than one weekThis was a struggle at first to get it to stay connected to wi-fi which may have been more of a Optimum issue after all, but its a great little printer, small footprint, good print quality. Once it is hardwired to the desktop computer it prints instantly when you click print. wi-fi can be slower. Tech support was weak from Brother, they had me reinstall a bunch of times and walked me through it, but didnt really understand what the problem was and they told me the wrong cable to get to hardwire it! They said (and the unit says) USB to USB, Nope, its a printer cable. That was frustrating as I purchased a USB to USB cable and had a printer cable here all along. IN the end, Google Mesh installation solved the issue of dropping wi-fi and Google Mesh support was outstanding!

> 3 dayBought the printer and was happy with it as a basic home printer. However, first tank of black ink is empty and I cannot find a repalcement anywhere - Amazon, Walmart, Staples, Offixmax - all on back order Printer is now worthless

> 3 dayI love this printer. I recently replaced another brand of printer and I was a little worried because I’d never used this brand before. After reading good reviews about it, I decided to purchase. I’m so glad I did…I love it! It was easy to set up. I was a little nervous about it, but I just followed the provided instructions and everything worked perfectly. I use it wirelessly and that worked great; connected immediately. I’ve also printed to it from my iPhone. The print quality is excellent. It’s super fast - printing, copying and scanning. I’ve used the one sheet copy and scan on the glass, and also used the multiple-page paper feeder on top. It saved me so much time from my previous printer. The printer utilities app that installed on my computer is straightforward and easy to use. It also has a fax machine but I’ve not used that as I haven’t had a need. I’ve used the print on both sides feature and that works fine. I also needed a printer that would both load paper and print to the front and this does that. I have this printer stored on a small rolling cart underneath my small desk in a kitchen nook where I do most of my work. I couldn’t be happier with it.

Greater than one weekPrinter was easy to set up to my entire home network. Its great communicating from my phones, tablets, and laptop with ease. The only problem I have is the small volume ink cartridges and the expense of them. Its obvious Brother made this model to end bootleg cartridges which are much more affordable. Just another corporation sticking it to Americans with impunity.
