> 3 dayIt was simple to use. I was nervous before going into the repair. I watched a few YouTube videos to have an idea of what I was supposed to do. I followed the directions that came in the box along with stuff I learned from YouTube. It was super easy. The first insert took me about 30 minutes. I did 2 more after and they took me about 30 minutes in total. I have driven about 500 miles after the repair and still no problems. I would definitely recommend to anyone needing this product for the 5.4liter triton V8 2 valve engine.

> 3 dayI am so glad I went with this kit for my 2001 F150 XLT 5.4L. It had shot a spark plug that had a cheap insert out of the hole (took the coil off with it, ripped some wiring, and sounded like an air plane all the way home. With several YouTube videos, this kit, the proper tools, and some patients, the job went super smoothly and I’ve got 500+ miles on it since the repair. You’ll have to be careful about managing the chips frond drilling and tapping, but the little air pop off valve included in the kit worked great. After cutting and blowing out chips, and spraying break cleaner in the cylinder, and blowing that out several times there were quite a few small chips sitting down around the cylinder edge. I was able to turn the motor manually which pushed the chips up the cylinder wall, re check the valves were closed, and repeat the blowing out operation several times. A bore scope was also critical for making sure all the chips were out. Super happy so far and not blowing any smoke yet!

> 3 dayMade it simple to perfectly ream out the stripped plug threads and re-tap. I re tapped with a 3/8 rachet by hand feeling my way and keeping it perfect with the attached guide with a lil wd-40. Make sure to run it up and down a few times gently. I only used air rachet with the reamer. The heli coils in this kit are much thicker and beefer than the cheap kits that are at most part stores. I work on the road a lot and dont need another blown plug. I did my best with a bore scope to get every piece of aluminum out of the cylinder with compressed air and a wand. Make sure to use the red loctite on the insert and let it set up for a day. I paid like 240.00 bucks with shipping taxes etc. Time will only tell now.

> 3 dayFixed my 97 Expedition that had a blown our spark plug two weeks ago and it is running great. I was really nrevous about trying to do this myself, but I had to keep the costs as low as possible. Bought the CalVan 38900 and let it sit for a couple of weeks till I got up the nerve to tackle the job. Looked at a bunch of videos including the one that came with the kit and was pretty sure that I could do this even though I only had hand tools to work with. I had no bore scope, air ratchet, or starter button, but was able to do the job just fine with a 1/2 ratchet handle, I bumped the motor over using the key to get the valves closed and measured piston height by using a soft plastic rod inserted into the spark plug hole. Luckily I was on the front of the engine so it was easy to get to. The supplied guide holds the reamer and tap bits in the correct position and it takes a few minutes to get the hole ready to install the insert. The inserts look well made and went in without a hitch. It was easy enough that I wanted to do the other 7 plugs but didnt want to deal with the clearance issues towards the rear of the engine. But should the need arise later, I have the kit and 7 inserts ready and waiting.

> 3 dayJust the exact tool weve been needing in our shop! It cost a little more than expected, but we, the mechanics, think its worth it.
