> 3 dayThis kit is the best one out there for sure. I would have given them 5 stars if they didnt still have quality control issues with the air connection for the hose. It would not fit ANY of my many air hose female connectors. The size of the connector is so odd that you wont find it in any American auto parts store or hardware store that I know of. Im a Quality Assurance Manager, so the fact that there have been MANY complaints about this and they have not corrected it, makes me wonder what other areas their quality control is lacking. With regard to the year of my vehicle, 2008, it must have an older engine. My best advice for anyone trying to figure out if this will work on your engine, examine your VIN #. It will tell you what engine you have and whether its a two valve or three valve. Just get your VIN # and do a search on Ford VINs.

> 3 dayThe reamer/drill bit with the stop works great, stops where it should. The tap, works great, stops where it should. The cork thing to verify the valves are closed, also works great. Get a air gun blow nozzle deal from harbor freight for like 3-4 bucks and you have everything you need. The bit of trouble i ran into was that my NGK spark plug apparently doesnt seat in the insert fully - a bit too wide. While trying to force it in there in panic mode so that the red threadlocker doesnt weld the thing forever, I tightened it a wee too much... like 100 ft -lbs too much, and the insert cracked, though I believe only the very top cracked. To my surprise, it still runs just fine. Only downside is the spark plug is still not seated all the way down to factory level (I may need a different spark plug, maybe a motorcraft?) and thus the coil is sticking out a bit too much - doesnt sit right above the hold down bolt like the rest of the coils. Its nice to know those inserts make the holes soooo much stronger - 100 ft lbs into a stock thread head is not gonna go over well... The tool is pricey especially if you only have to do 1; but it does take most of the guess work out of it, and is of great quality overall. Other thoughts: When you use the borescope camera and see all of those shavings inside your cylinder, you will wonder if youre ever gonna get those back out... they fly like confetti with a big long air nozzle!

> 3 dayWorked like it should, same cost as the shop for one repair. The kit comes with all 8, I had to take the guide to my wire wheel on my bench grinder to smooth it out to fit in the spark plug hole.

> 3 dayIf youre a basic DIYer (which I am), you can do it. Bought-used it several years ago and it was a lot easier than I anticipated, which is why I put off doing it for a several months. Its just time consuming and by allmeans,..take your time. The hose/vacuum portion (to ensure the valve is closed) didnt work, so I just used my scope and a long screwdriver to ensure the piston was down and valve was closed. And though I started using an air-ratchet, I felt uncomfortable and finished with a regular ratchet (hand strength). I recall the written instructions being more intricate than what I had to do to complete the job but they were very useful, well written.

> 3 dayWorks as intended, it doesn’t have any alloy as it’s highly magnetic (Quick dirty way to check for alloy). This product is better than a heli-coil style for the Triton engine. Sits better and captures more threads. I didn’t use the included instructions as I followed an on line video a mechanic made some time ago. His example is the best I found. Will keep using as needed.

> 3 dayWorked exactly as described. Excellent product and easy to use (almost too easy). It took me 45 min just triple check that the piston was at the bottom of the cylinder before I used these tools. Then 10 min to bore the hole and re-thread for new. The only downside to this tool is that it was rather expensive (for my one time job). But given I had no problems, it was worth it.
