This is a quality repair kit. The reamer and thread tap are very sharp and made from high strength tool steel. The design was well engineered for the intended purpose. The guide bushing for the team and tap worked perfectly the keep the hole and threads in alignment. Repairing the failed threads is a great alternative to replacing the cylinder head… much less expensive. The blow out plug to identify the cylinder valve closed position is ingenious and easy to use. The instructions are clear and the YouTube videos are a big help as well. This kit is not inexpensive but the quality of the tool is worth the expense.

The kit may seem expensive but it really isn’t when you consider how simple it is to use and it solved the problem with xtra parts in case it happens again with different plug

Excellent tool. Super easy to use. Rethreaded cylinder 1 on a 4.6l Town Car in under 1 hour. The kits reamer and threader are made to last. The inserts are robust and should last the life of the motor. For what the kit offers I believe this to be over priced. However, other kits of this caliber are double in price. So, I guess there is a savings. It also provides an almost idiot proof job with the guide. All in all, I can see this kit costing $50 less just by parts alone. It all depends on how much you are willing to pay for your time, no aggravation, and peace of mind.

Nice kit but I cant use it. Everything else in the case was fine. And it was only one of the for sets of threads. I really needed to use this thing but guess not. Im not sticking in my engine at all. Anyway I have never seen this before has anyone else? I tried calling and emailing cal-van but never heard back from them. Looks like I will be returning.
