> 24 hourFor the price, its pretty easy to use. Quality is dependent on a lot of things but for my light uses it was worth it. If you had a lot of tapes to do, not sure this would be the one I would choose.

> 24 hourLet me begin by saying I am not technologically competent, which is why I purchased this particular program to convert my old VHS family tapes to DVD. I did not want to do a lot of fancy editing. I just wanted to preserve my old VHS tapes. There is a little paper booklet of instructions, and they are okay, but also leaves out some key details. There is also a more complete set of directions that download to your computer. Please use these directions. I was using Windows 10 so I know it works with this, even though some may say it does not. I understand because I almost returned the program several times. But, all the problems were the result of my not reading the directions carefully. Example, take off the power save option on your computer. My setting was for my computer to go to sleep after 15 minutes, and that kept screwing up my efforts before I figured that out. But, the crowning jewel in all of this is the tech department, specifically Tyler. I emailed him many times, and he patiently and quickly answered all my questions. He should get a raise! The end result is that I have converted all my old family tapes to DVD, and also copied them to flash drives which is really convenient.

> 24 hourI recorded 6 vhs tapes and all seemed well but one of them was slightly to big. Also the picture while recording was tiny so I did a test to make sure my recording wasnt tiny and it looked good. I tried to edit the slightly over sized video to trim it to fit onto DVD, the built in editor was horrible and could not figure it out. So I tried to record again but now had no picture so tried on a different lap top no go so 3rd lap top and it worked well but video still to big so looking for another editor. Id look for something more expensive in future as this has turned into far more work and anger than I expected. But I will get something recorded out of it and nice to have digital copies as well

> 24 hourThis does work. I am not a computer person and it took me days to figure it out. The instructions online are different than the instructions in the package and the information in the Q&A help is different than both of those. I feel this would be 4 stars if the instructions were cleaned up. Now that Ive got my video, Im trying to figure out how to edit it. That seems just as challenging. It might be easier to locate other software for that. :(

> 24 hourRather than spends hundreds of dollars to convert family recordings to digital, this was a golden find. Also allowed me to preserve these family moments and enjoy them again. Without this, I’d have never heard my husband’s voice again after he passed away. When you send your vhs tapes in to be transferred they typically come back with music rather than the audio. Not with this. I was able to easily transfer video and audio! Best ever and so easy to use.

> 24 hourWorked for me. Windows 10 Although the software COULD be a little more intuitive, and editing out portions of videos is CONFUSING. Dividing video into chapters is a tedious pain. I eventually just chose to automatically divide chapters by every ten minutes or so, just to save time. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5 It would probably be best to use this only for capturing your VHS tapes, then use other software for editing. But I finally got around to putting our wedding video on DVD.

> 24 hourFirst off, this DOES work with Windows 10 - if you have the right software. I installed the software that ships with the device and even after an hour of trying every combination of selections I could, I was never able to capture anything other than sound. I then tried it with Pinnacle Studio 22, and that software didnt even recognize it as being plugged in. I finally tried my favorite standby - CyberLink PowerDirector (v16) and it worked perfectly the first time I tried it. In the week Ive had it Ive digitized 8 or 9 VHS tapes with very good results - keeping in mind a digitized 30 year old VHS tape is never going to look great by todays video standards. Of course once captured, a file can be imported into any video editing software that you choose.

> 24 hourI use to use a VCR hooked up to an old camera which in turn connected to my computer. Got a new computer and port that the camera used is now obsolete. I needed a way to convert a few remaining VCR tapes to digital. This has worked great. Didnt want to spend a lot or have a complicated setup.

> 24 hourThis is a very good device, it does just what I need it to do. I had no issues with it at all, it works perfectly on my Win 10 laptop. The sound out of sync situation is only happening during the capturing process. Once the video is captured and saved on your computer, the sync issue is not there. Ive converted 10 tapes, burned them all to DVDs and planning to do more. In addition, I saved them all to my external usb storage as a backup. The clarity and crispness isnt exactly the same as the original tapes, but thats understandable. To get the same level of crispness you would need to go to a professional movie-making studio. Im quite happy with the results, it does the job.
