16-04-2025When it works right it is fine but there are problems. The instructions are at times unclear and incomplete. I had to figure out some things by trial and error. One recording the sound and video did not match; I had to rerecord. The edit function is very crude; you will either cut some of what you want to convert or have keep some of you dont want to keep. When I contacted support for assistance I received some questions in return instead of a solution for my problem. It will only convert 2 hours of data at a time; this is not mentioned in the instructions. I did get everything I wanted to convert done but it could have been much simpler with better and complete instructions.

> 3 dayRecently went through 20+ VHS tapes that were boxed 12 years ago when we moved. Many are over 30 years old (weddings, birthdays, daughters events, family events and woodworking videos for equipment I still have). Got a VCR from someone in our city, purchased VHS2DVD and its all history (literally). Put the tape in VCR, hit play, and then hit Record on the VHS2DVD app then sit back and watch the process. Flawless. I created .mpeg file on an external drive and next Ill copy them onto thumb drives and gift the family videos to family members. May burn DVDs if needed. Thanks ClearClick.

> 3 dayThe captured video is only as good as your VHS player. Hook up with S-video if you can. My oldest home videos look not so great, but they are almost 40 years old. The ones less then 10 years old turned out great.

Greater than one weekI rarely give 5 star reviews, as Im a firm believer in theres always room for improvement. That being said, once you get the application loaded up and launched - its a straight forward user experience. Where this product excels is in Customer/Tech Support. My laptop doesnt have a CD drive. I wrote to Tech support asking for a ZIP file with the .exe file. To be honest, I didnt think Id hear back for at least a day. In less than an hour I received a response from Tyler, Lead Tech Support, looking for proof of purchase. And once provided that info, I had the file. I did encounter a technical issue after successfully installing file. I wont go into detail as thats not important. What is important is this, Tyler exchanged emails with me for about an hour or so until the issue was resolved. Its been a long, long time since Ive encountered an organization with such dedicated and well educated customer/tech support.

> 3 dayObviously one must play the entire vhs tape to record. That works okay. The issue is the edit feature. One must select portions to “cut” from the recording, but only one at a time. And, before selecting that portion, you have to play the video to get the slider to become visible. Just thought it required must longer to get the job done.

> 3 dayIm always leery of products like this when I read such disparate reviews. But I bought it anyway. I have some old movies on VHS that I want to bring over to MP4 and DVD. The install was very easy. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!! 0. DONT INSTALL THE USB YET!! 1. Install the driver. DONT REBOOT YET 2. Install the software. REBOOT WHEN DONE. DONT RUN IT YET! 3. Plug in the USB (I had it in a USB 3.0 port) 4. Run the software as administrator (or it wont work right I found out) 5. Do the configuration as shown in the booklet I plugged my VCR into the video/audio connections and fired it up. It worked great! The quality of the video is good considering the VHS I was copying isnt the newest. Audio was great. I have quite a number of VHS tapes Im going to move to electronic format. This seems to be the thing to do the trick. Id certainly recommend it. Hooked up

> 3 dayThis product works great! Out of the box I read the easy instructions and was able to transfer videos effortlessly. So far I have transferred about twenty VHS tapes to digital files. There are some color changes and color bleeding but this may be due to the 30+ year old video tapes or maybe the VCR that I am using. Are they the quality of new digital movies? Absolutely not. But the movies are viewable and I have saved quite a bit of money doing it myself and not sending the tapes out to be converted.

> 3 dayI bought this not to convert VHS to DVD, but to be able to record the output of a Roku to the hard disk of my PC (in standard definition). To do so, I also bought a Tendak HDMI to 3RCA Converter
