Decimator MD-HX HDMI and SDI Cross Converter with Scaling & Frame Rate Conversion

> 24 hourThe Decimator is a workhorse piece of gear. A great alternative with almost no limitations. This is not just a cross-converter but also re-scales and transforms signals to different frame rates. I use this with a computer monitor that doesnt accept 24fps or 30fps signals because of the refresh rate of 60htz. I can also use the HDMI out as a loop through signal and splitter for other monitors.

> 24 hourThis thing should be in any professional video persons arsenal. It is worth every penny in my opinion. It can solve so many problems, from source and destination resolution mismatch, to boosting a signal from my experience, not to mention converting sdi to HDMI and vice versa.

> 24 hourBuy this FIRST. We needed to go from 720p to 1080i, coming from a DJI Inspire 1 Pro, into to a broadcast system, via SDI. Four other adapter configurations failed. Expensive BlackMagic adapters failed. This thing worked right out of the box with 2 simple menu setting changes. Does exactly what it should, has multiple applications, and the up-scaled output feed looks great. Configuration is easy and the menus are very straight forward.

> 24 hourThis is a great little signal converter that works flawlessly once it is set up properly. The instructions and the UI are both poor. If you want to convert a signal, you need to set the converter, then you need to APPLY the conversion to the input and make a couple of other non-obvious setting changes. I had to watch a YouTube video to figure out how this thing works. Now I have 3 of them. With better programming, these could be much better.

> 24 hourFirst, the Decimator does exact;y what it is supposed to do. Lets make that clear. Where it falls down is that its difficult at best to navigate the menus, and setup via the free app on their website is WAY easier. Its still not super clear, but its is obvious.

> 24 hourVery pricey unit, but it does work. The menus are TERRIBLE, being confusing and illogical. Hoped for more options, too. A little finicky itself used on for finicky HDMI devices. But it has enough conversion options to find something that will work. Also, the power supply and cord was surprisingly cheap and fragile, fraying open right at the input strain relief. Come on meow, USE BETTER quality wire! This is supposed to be a tour grade product (and it is) so it should have a better power supply. It is built like a tank otherwise, the unit is VERY heavy! I mean heavy!
