This bit made my 45 degree miter joints accurate.

I used this to bevel 50 six foot long, 3/4” thick redwood pickets. I was pleasantly surprised to find the bit still going strong even after cutting through plenty of knotholes.

I am not going to keep saying the same thing about Freud router bits, If I ever get a bad one I will let you know. But don hold your breath.

The router bit arrived within a few days of order (thank you Amazon). The bit was exactly as described in the on-line description and was sharp and cut quickly and cleanly through pressure-treated pine. The bit produced perfect 45-degree chamfer edges up to an inch in depth (via multiple passes) with very little chatter, and it remains sharp after several hours of cutting. This particular bit might seem a bit expensive, but given its quality and performance, I consider it a worthwhile investment.

Used it on a project that had no margin for grabby cutters. Surface is glassy smooth. It worked very nice.

I have used Freud and other brands of router bits. Freud is near the top of the list. They are sharper and last longer than almost all other router bits. Because of this they are a good value.

1-5/8" (Dia.) Chamfer Bit with 1/2" Shank

From the Manufacturer

Freud"s precision ground carbide bits have a grain size smaller than other grades, and titanium is added making them impervious to chemical attack. Promoting safer woodworking is the reason Freud made a commitment to develop anti-kickback router bits. Bits are computer balanced to insure vibration-free operation at speeds that are a safe margin above the typical 22,000 RPMs of most routers. Freud"s philosophy is woodworkers should expect safety, not pay for it. Carbide length 5/8-inch, angle 45-degrees, shank diameter 1/2-inch.
