Greater than one weekWhen used properly at the correct speed and depth of cut it created a butter smooth edge on my Padauk desk top with no burning, chatter, or chipping.

Greater than one weekSo far Ive routed 60 linear feet of pressure treated pine. It got a bit gummed up from the soft/wet wood, but after a good cleaning with simple green, this thing is back to operating like brand new! Freud is the way to go...

> 3 dayRouting has always been a gut wrenching idea to me. It is the one part of a project that most likely can not be fixed and is typically where the eye is drawn. I finally decided to route a desk I made and this bit made it absolutely amazingly easy. My first time routing and it was like butter. The project came out way better then expected. I only needed to route 8 edges so I can’t say what long term life this bit has but for the 15 feet or so i needed to route it worked flawless. I routed resin and honey locus, only one long edge was resin, the rest was wood.

> 3 dayCan you go wrong with a Freud router bit?

05-06-2025I prefer Freud router bits based on consistently high quality. This is an example. This bit is very useful for slight bevel on trim or the like. The 25 degree bevel (vs vertical) is quite nice if 45 or 30 are too slanted, and the slighter angle also makes the bit a little easier to work - the outside diameter is smaller. Suggest use on light material (such as primary design purpose, re trimming countertop laminates) with slow rate over work, or in a router table. Either way a variable speed router is required for best results, turned down from max just slightly. My first use was actually duplicating a guitar pickguard using an original as pattern -- on a router table, using spacers in between to get the cutter to align as closely as possible to the bearing. One of many examples where this bit is extremely suitable and useful.

> 3 dayI used this bit to contour the edges of a set tables with tops made of 5/4 sugar maple. Worked perfectly. Cut cleanly with no burn. This is a big bit! I had to make a custom plate for my Porter Cable handheld router to accommodate the bits diameter. I was concerned that the fixed speed of the router was too fast for this size bit. It was not a problem. Other reviews indicate that the bit is so big that its dangerous. Just slow down the feed rate, make successive shallow cuts and everyone will be fine.
