Purchased this Infant Optics DXR 8-PRO after recommendations from several friends in 2021. I previously had a Motorola baby camera and let me tell you the picture quality between the Infant Optics and Motorola camera doesn’t even compare. The Infant Optics has amazing night vision picture quality as well as day time picture quality. The cameras and monitors have worked great for daily use. This past month the monitor started shutting down when I would switch to scan mode- but a quick contact with Vanessa at Infant Optics Customer Service center had a new monitor being shipped to me the same day. Vanessa was quick to understand my issue and resolve my problem despite my monitor being outside the warranty dates. I would definitely recommend this baby monitor- not only for the quality of the cameras, but for the customer service you will receive!

This is a pretty solid monitor. I like that it’s always running and there is no delay. I also like that it’s got a great range in the house and the battery life is good. The volume and ability to talk to the baby work really well. One of my complaints, and why this isn’t 5 stars are: -the lenses it come with aren’t really my taste. For $11 you can get the wide lens, which is way better. It’s not a deal breaker but for $200 for a baby monitor, it should come with all 3 available lenses. -Also, it’s a little annoying that the picture is always in black and white. When there is adequate lighting, the picture flips over to color. I understand that it’s the night vision mode at work, but that’s sort of defeats the purpose of having an HD full color baby monitor to me. Most people put their baby to bed in a dark, quiet room. So the monitor will never be in color when you are checking in on the baby. They need to use a better camera.

We have two cameras and it has great picture and range! Good for multiple kids too if you need more than one camera but only want one monitor.

This is a big upgrade from the non-pro version, especially the larger screen, higher resolution, and noise cancelling feature. We did have an issue where our monitor stopped working when it was not plugged in (not a battery issue). I contacted customer support and they were very responsive and quickly sent a new unit after short troubleshooting steps. They understood it would be very inconvenient to send our unit back first, so they sent the new unit before requiring us to send in the old one. I was shocked that I did not wait at all when I called their customer service phone number. The new unit works great!

This product works great. Its more on the high dollar side of baby cams, but you get quality. I like that it is a closed loop system to where it only broadcasts to the screen/remote. The camera changes from color to night vision well and I have had no glitches or disconnections from the baby monitor so far. The battery seems to last through the night if you dont have the screen on constantly. Otherwise the battery can drain in a few hours if the screen is on constantly. A remedy is to have it hooked up to a portable battery bank. I use a 20,000 mha battery bank which is more than enough to keep this baby Cam running for a long time.

We upgraded to this camera when our 2nd was born. We love that it can switch back and fourth between the two cameras and you can even add up to 4. Picture quality and sound are great. We did A LOT of research before selecting this setup. A little over a year after purchase we starting having issues with the monitor itself where it would shut off or have no picture and the company was excellent in getting us a prompt replacement. We are very happy!

I have been a baby sitter for almost 5 years with different families and so far this is the BEST monitor I have used. Now that I am having a baby I obviously bought it for the baby room and I love it!!! The picture quality is great even if you do zoom in, it reduce all the noise in the room and I love that it does not need a Wi-Fi connection.

The regular DXR-8 continues to get good ratings and have strong recommendations from parents, so I can’t say it’s a bad product. What I can say, though, is that the pro version is a quantum leap from the regular version, and so worth the extra cost. After four years with the regular version, I got irritated that it would continually lose signal in our basement with the cameras on the second floor, so we finally decided to buy the Pro. The screen and clarity of picture, the noise, reduction features, the user interface, everything is just so much better in the pro version that I only regret we didn’t make the switch much sooner. In summary: pay the extra for the Pro, it’s so worth it.

It’s such a great monitor and camera! And I love that I got it. The picture is nice and clear, especially the night vision. The reason I gave it a four star and not five is because in order for it to show color, you have to be in a very very bright room. The picture where the monitor is in color is in my living room that has a big window, however, it’s only in color because I have a bright light on also. Without the light on, it would show in black and white. Also, when I hit the talk button, the person in the room with the camera cannot hear me too well when I speak. I have to speak pretty loudly. Lastly, the monitor doesn’t last too long off of the charger. I say 6hrs max. Other than those issues, I really love this camera and monitor.

The Infant Optics DXR-8 PRO video baby monitor is our most advanced monitor yet. As a parent, you want digital security without internet connectivity for an added layer of protection against hackers that may be able to access your camera over the internet. Operating on 2nd-generation FHSS frequency in a closed-loop system that does NOT utilizes your home WiFi, only YOU can see and hear your baby. The DXR-8 PRO features cutting edge features such as Active Noise Reduction (ANR), a high definition display, and interchangeable lenses. ANR is an option that can be toggled on or off to filter any background noise such as fans, air conditioners, humidifiers, and air purifiers, that are commonly heard on baby monitors as "static noise". When it comes to video clarity, the monitor features a 5" ultra-clear LCD display at 720P resolution with enhanced night vision. The three-step digital zoom can be operated with the optical zoom lens (included) so that you can zoom in to see your baby sleeping in 6x zoom without causing the pixelation and blurring seen on other monitors. All functions are controlled on our next-generation user interface. Dedicated volume and brightness controls on the top of the monitor unit. Brightness of the LED lights (power and LED sound bar) can be dimmed so it won"t shine your room bright at night. Standard features such as two-way talk back, sleep mode, night vision included. Monitor wakes instantly from sleep mode with a press of any button. Pair with portable battery pack (sold separately) for up to 24 hours battery life. Comes with manufacturer"s 1 year warranty, extendable to 2 years for free upon registration. Note: predecessor model DXR-8 camera units are NOT compatible with the DXR-8 PRO.
