We bought this camera because we were looking for a baby moniter that wasnt easy to hack into. We liked this because the video feed can only be seen on the moniter it comes with. The picture quality is pretty good. I wish the screen was a bit larger. The night vision is great, very crisp and clear. You can zoom in and move the camera to look around the room. Its nice to be able to move the camera to find the cat that snuck into babies room. This camera works great for what we use it for and it was a good price.

This product works great. Its more on the high dollar side of baby cams, but you get quality. I like that it is a closed loop system to where it only broadcasts to the screen/remote. The camera changes from color to night vision well and I have had no glitches or disconnections from the baby monitor so far. The battery seems to last through the night if you dont have the screen on constantly. Otherwise the battery can drain in a few hours if the screen is on constantly. A remedy is to have it hooked up to a portable battery bank. I use a 20,000 mha battery bank which is more than enough to keep this baby Cam running for a long time.

We have used Infant Optics for 3 years now. We started with the DXR-8 baby monitor, and when it was dropped outside and broken, we switched to the DXR-8 Pro. We have 2 cameras for 2 children and they are so easy to connect. Recently we had an issue with the monitor itself not showing the children, it would just play audio. I contacted the Customer Support team with Infant Optics, and Emma C was AMAZING. She followed up with me multiple times after she helped me resolve the issue. After 2 months of this issue the monitor gave out (The monitor was 2 years old). Emma went above and beyond. She informed me that the monitor was no longer in warranty, but she still wanted to help me any way she could. After Sending her proof of purchase and the serial number she had a new monitor sent to me, the only thing that was not covered was the shipping back to the company, and battery was not included. Emma knew that with 2 children, I needed the broken monitor for audio, until the new one arrived. That is not how infant optics normally conducts business due to customers never sending back the monitors, but she made an exception. I have nothing but praises for this company, and product. I will be a lifetime customer, whether for myself or purchasing gifts for others.

When we had our first baby two years ago, we received the DXR-8 as a baby shower gift and have been using it every night since. As we are expecting our second child, we were debating between getting a second webcam or trying a different monitoring system. We happened to find out that Infant Optics had an upgraded product and decided to give it a try since we really liked using and were familiar with the previous version. Pros: - Night vision is so much better with the Pro due to the higher resolution. I can make out features through the crib railings when it was blurrier before. - Larger screen that allows me view the whole crib now (webcam about 8 feet away from the crib). With the previous version, I would have to move the webcam left and right since my child has a tendency to roll around the crib throughout the night. -Menu options are almost the same as the previous version. The options have a small detailed description about what it does instead of having to find the owners manual to see what each options are. The Pro has dedicated volume and brightness buttons which is convenient in the middle of the night. -There is a noise canceling option which has been working for us so far. We normally play white noise (via google mini within a feet of the webcam) in my childs room and even though it says not to use it at the same time, I can still hear when he cries out and not hear the static from the white noise with the option turned off. Cons: - Our monitor unit arrived with pieces of plastic underneath the screen, but we have been in contact with Infant Optics and are getting a replacement sent. - The monitor charger is no longer a micro USB but rather a barrel jack type power supply. It was convenient to have micro USB as the charger for plugging in the monitor as that type of input is common. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product for those that dont want to have an internet based/network baby monitoring system. I will update how it works with two webcams when Baby#2 arrives.

We have two cameras and it has great picture and range! Good for multiple kids too if you need more than one camera but only want one monitor.

I love the sharpness of the screen and that I can move the camera up and down or to either side just by clicking on the monitor! but after using it for 7 months the monitor just didnt work, it didnt want to turn on even though the battery was fully charged. I contacted customer service and Kristine responded and solved the issue very quickly. I think I had the most wonderful experience with all the customer service Ive experienced.

We originally bought a Miku because we liked how it monitored babys vitals without something like the Owlet sock. We ended up returning it because it didnt have a monitor and if you didnt want to attach it to your wall, you had to buy a $100 stand, which is insane for a piece of plastic. We chose this camera instead and are so happy with our decision. It is small and compact, making it easy for travel. If you dont want to attach it to your wall, you can buy a mount for it that can easily attach to the side of any crib or bassinet. We use it on our bassinet while our son is sleeping before we go to bed. The screen quality cant be beat. We can see everything so clearly with the amazing night vision. We always have a fan and a noise machine running, and the noise cancelation eliminates both almost completely. The detail and live feed is so accurate, I can see my son breathing under his Halo sack. It has a wide and a normal lens that are easily interchangeable. The cords for both the monitor and camera are very long and thin in case you need to connect to a distant wall outlet. If you dont have the monitor plugged in, you get a decent amount of battery time before it needs to be charged again. It is easy to move the camera angle from the monitor in case baby moves around. While this doesnt have an app for your phone, we decided we didnt need one. An app will drain your phone battery, and if you are monitoring baby, you cant do anything else on your phone. For example, I frequently use my phone for recipes, so if I was cooking while baby was sleeping, I couldnt properly watch him. The monitor is the perfect size, not too big or too small, has a great battery life, and is easy to move around and position with a kick stand -- so no phone app is needed. Lastly, the signal is really, really good. We took the monitor outside to shovel snow and had no connectivity issues with the camera that was inside and on the second floor of our house.

The regular DXR-8 continues to get good ratings and have strong recommendations from parents, so I can’t say it’s a bad product. What I can say, though, is that the pro version is a quantum leap from the regular version, and so worth the extra cost. After four years with the regular version, I got irritated that it would continually lose signal in our basement with the cameras on the second floor, so we finally decided to buy the Pro. The screen and clarity of picture, the noise, reduction features, the user interface, everything is just so much better in the pro version that I only regret we didn’t make the switch much sooner. In summary: pay the extra for the Pro, it’s so worth it.

We’ve been using the previous version for the past three years, and have been super happy with it. Zero problems. But we’re about to have baby number 2, and we figured if we’re buying a new camera we might as well upgrade. We couldn’t be happier! The picture quality is amazing. Such an improvement, and the original wasn’t bad by any means! Works great in daylight, and the night vision is awesome too. Love that you can pan and zoom the camera remotely. We love that it doesn’t need WiFi to work too, because our internet isn’t super reliable. Could not be happier with this purchase.

The Infant Optics DXR-8 PRO video baby monitor is our most advanced monitor yet. As a parent, you want digital security without internet connectivity for an added layer of protection against hackers that may be able to access your camera over the internet. Operating on 2nd-generation FHSS frequency in a closed-loop system that does NOT utilizes your home WiFi, only YOU can see and hear your baby. The DXR-8 PRO features cutting edge features such as Active Noise Reduction (ANR), a high definition display, and interchangeable lenses. ANR is an option that can be toggled on or off to filter any background noise such as fans, air conditioners, humidifiers, and air purifiers, that are commonly heard on baby monitors as "static noise". When it comes to video clarity, the monitor features a 5" ultra-clear LCD display at 720P resolution with enhanced night vision. The three-step digital zoom can be operated with the optical zoom lens (included) so that you can zoom in to see your baby sleeping in 6x zoom without causing the pixelation and blurring seen on other monitors. All functions are controlled on our next-generation user interface. Dedicated volume and brightness controls on the top of the monitor unit. Brightness of the LED lights (power and LED sound bar) can be dimmed so it won"t shine your room bright at night. Standard features such as two-way talk back, sleep mode, night vision included. Monitor wakes instantly from sleep mode with a press of any button. Pair with portable battery pack (sold separately) for up to 24 hours battery life. Comes with manufacturer"s 1 year warranty, extendable to 2 years for free upon registration. Note: predecessor model DXR-8 camera units are NOT compatible with the DXR-8 PRO.
