> 3 dayAfter using those annoying monitors with my first four children and listening to that irritating static all of the time, Im head over heals for this product. Visual and sound clarity is excellent and the ability to talk to my children through the other end has saved me NUMEROUS trips across the house.

> 3 dayIt’s such a great monitor and camera! And I love that I got it. The picture is nice and clear, especially the night vision. The reason I gave it a four star and not five is because in order for it to show color, you have to be in a very very bright room. The picture where the monitor is in color is in my living room that has a big window, however, it’s only in color because I have a bright light on also. Without the light on, it would show in black and white. Also, when I hit the talk button, the person in the room with the camera cannot hear me too well when I speak. I have to speak pretty loudly. Lastly, the monitor doesn’t last too long off of the charger. I say 6hrs max. Other than those issues, I really love this camera and monitor.

16-11-2024The regular DXR-8 continues to get good ratings and have strong recommendations from parents, so I can’t say it’s a bad product. What I can say, though, is that the pro version is a quantum leap from the regular version, and so worth the extra cost. After four years with the regular version, I got irritated that it would continually lose signal in our basement with the cameras on the second floor, so we finally decided to buy the Pro. The screen and clarity of picture, the noise, reduction features, the user interface, everything is just so much better in the pro version that I only regret we didn’t make the switch much sooner. In summary: pay the extra for the Pro, it’s so worth it.

> 3 dayPurchased this unit last year as a replacement monitor for our second son. We were really impressed with the picture quality and ease of use. We did have an issue with battery life, as the unit would die after approx 8h of use with the screen off. We reached out to customer support about a new battery. They responded within a few hours and sent the new battery out under warranty. Less than 24 hours after our initial inquiry, the battery showed up. Much better quality and now shows 25-50% charge remaining after a night of idle use. Would absolutely recommend this product.

> 3 dayI was recommended this product by a friend. I took their word and ordered it, We loved it, its worked wonderfully and even needed help from customer service due to a defect in the receiver. Customer service was kind, easy to contact and quick to take action and send a replacement. We loved the camera so much we ordered another. I especially like that you can flip from one camera to another with the touch of a button. BUT we are very disappointed to find out that you can not have 2 monitors at once. I bought 2 cameras and 2 monitors in hopes of not having to run around looking for the other monitor. Unfortunately the cameras can only be connected to ONE monitor at a time. Not so great if you have multiple floors. The night vision on this camera is IMPRESSIVE. If the room is pitch black you can turn the camera on and see.

> 3 dayThis is by far the BEST baby monitor we’ve used. The picture is so clear, and it isn’t automatically zoomed in close where it’s hard to position it correctly (our Motorola one did this and it was so frustrating). The two-way speaker is pretty instant and the sound is clear without static or pause. We love it!!!

Greater than one weekHaving had two different cameras (owlet and vtech) this one is far superior in video quality, features, sound, and range. The ability to move the camera around from the handheld monitor is so nice when you have a baby that moves around a lot in the crib. The only complaint is the battery life - it’s definitely helpful to have two chargers handy for your bedroom and then main living space so you aren’t moving a charger back and forth throughout the day. We have loved this unit and do not regret the purchase!

> 3 dayI am a huge fan of infant optics and have recommended them to all my friends. Their customer service is the best as well. I had an issue with my monitor and they stayed in touch until the issue was resolved. It is very easy to add a second monitor. We keep one in a case for easy travel / moving around.

> 3 dayThrilled I finally found a camera and monitor that works! I had to purchase a new monitor that was compatible with 2 cameras after having my second child since our first system didn’t have an available 2nd camera. This is my 4th camera duo purchase and I was starting to think I would never find one that worked. This thankfully is great!!! The reviews on the previous purchases all seemed great but this people either had low standards or just totally lied. This is worth the money! Pros: - night vision is great and very clear -you can still hear the volume when the camera monitor is on standby mode and dark to conserve battery - using 2 cameras it is easy to toggle between each camera and they do not go offline (which my last purchase did ALL the time) - battery life on the monitor has been impressive but I have kept screen on standby mode majority of the time since I can still hear - monitor is a great size. And not having to be connected to Wi-Fi makes it feel more secure CONS: -the monitor takes a specific post type charger so you can’t use any USB C or micro USB that you probably have dozens of around your house and will have to keep up with the one charger

> 3 dayThis camera is heavenly! As a first time mom I wanted the best and most reliable monitor and this is it! I havent tried the original model so I cant say if this is better. I initially wanted a wifi monitor and purchased the Nanit but it was horrible. Even with upgraded wifi the camera still buffered and was very grainy. It was EXTREMELY annoying having to use the app and keep it open at all times on my phone...so if I wanted to see baby I couldnt do anything else on my phone. There was a loud buzzing sound (from AC?) that couldnt really be heard in the room but was super loud through the monitor. Enter the Infant Optics DXR-8 PRO! This camera/monitor was the answer to ALL the issues with the Nanit and all my concerns. Pros: -The picture is crystal clear. Night vision is also really good. -The camera covers the whole room as I am able to use the arrows on the monitor screen to move the camera - Zoom is good ( I dont really use this much to be honest) -ANR is AMAZING. We use a very loud fan in lieu of a sound machine and it cannot be heard AT ALL through the monitor - Connection is great. I never had an issue with range even through concrete walls. - Monitor is a decent size, can adjust sound and brightness. - Monitor can be used on sleep mode where the screen goes off but the sound is still heard. (to be fair I dont actually use this I keep the screen on at all times on the lowest brightness). - Monitor charges quickly and makes a very loud noise (not annoying, just a loud chime) when charge is low, giving enough time to run for the charger! - I feel very confident in this monitor and dont worry about glitches or the screen shutting off. I used it a lot for day time naps to get comfortable before tacking an entire night. Something I worried about with the nanit in the event that my phone died or wifi dropped Cons: - there is a second or 2 sound delay but this is not an issue for me. - monitor in sleep mode isnt sound activated so if baby cries I have to press the button so see the screen - temperature is off by a lot..shows as 5-7 degrees hotter compared to the Nanit which is accurate ( the only thing I like about the Nanit lol) - there is a slight delay when using the talk button on the monitor screen. I mainly use this to communicate with my husband if he is with baby or vice versa. There is a delay in hearing the sound when the talk button is released - The camera doesnt have a chargeable battery, it just plugs in. I didnt think this was an issue until we had a storm and no electricity for more than 12 hours :/ The main downside to a non-wifi monitor is not being able to check in on baby from work but we still have the nanit and nanny cams so its not really an issue. I highly recommend this camera - it will definitely give you peace of mind :)
