> 3 dayThis camera is heavenly! As a first time mom I wanted the best and most reliable monitor and this is it! I havent tried the original model so I cant say if this is better. I initially wanted a wifi monitor and purchased the Nanit but it was horrible. Even with upgraded wifi the camera still buffered and was very grainy. It was EXTREMELY annoying having to use the app and keep it open at all times on my phone...so if I wanted to see baby I couldnt do anything else on my phone. There was a loud buzzing sound (from AC?) that couldnt really be heard in the room but was super loud through the monitor. Enter the Infant Optics DXR-8 PRO! This camera/monitor was the answer to ALL the issues with the Nanit and all my concerns. Pros: -The picture is crystal clear. Night vision is also really good. -The camera covers the whole room as I am able to use the arrows on the monitor screen to move the camera - Zoom is good ( I dont really use this much to be honest) -ANR is AMAZING. We use a very loud fan in lieu of a sound machine and it cannot be heard AT ALL through the monitor - Connection is great. I never had an issue with range even through concrete walls. - Monitor is a decent size, can adjust sound and brightness. - Monitor can be used on sleep mode where the screen goes off but the sound is still heard. (to be fair I dont actually use this I keep the screen on at all times on the lowest brightness). - Monitor charges quickly and makes a very loud noise (not annoying, just a loud chime) when charge is low, giving enough time to run for the charger! - I feel very confident in this monitor and dont worry about glitches or the screen shutting off. I used it a lot for day time naps to get comfortable before tacking an entire night. Something I worried about with the nanit in the event that my phone died or wifi dropped Cons: - there is a second or 2 sound delay but this is not an issue for me. - monitor in sleep mode isnt sound activated so if baby cries I have to press the button so see the screen - temperature is off by a lot..shows as 5-7 degrees hotter compared to the Nanit which is accurate ( the only thing I like about the Nanit lol) - there is a slight delay when using the talk button on the monitor screen. I mainly use this to communicate with my husband if he is with baby or vice versa. There is a delay in hearing the sound when the talk button is released - The camera doesnt have a chargeable battery, it just plugs in. I didnt think this was an issue until we had a storm and no electricity for more than 12 hours :/ The main downside to a non-wifi monitor is not being able to check in on baby from work but we still have the nanit and nanny cams so its not really an issue. I highly recommend this camera - it will definitely give you peace of mind :)

Greater than one weekI am a huge fan of infant optics and have recommended them to all my friends. Their customer service is the best as well. I had an issue with my monitor and they stayed in touch until the issue was resolved. It is very easy to add a second monitor. We keep one in a case for easy travel / moving around.

> 3 dayI like the monitor, easy to use and simpler then the previous model. The microphone that picks up the sound could use improvment for my needs, but it works fine. I bought the wide angle zoom lens seperately for my installation.

> 3 dayThis is a big upgrade from the non-pro version, especially the larger screen, higher resolution, and noise cancelling feature. We did have an issue where our monitor stopped working when it was not plugged in (not a battery issue). I contacted customer support and they were very responsive and quickly sent a new unit after short troubleshooting steps. They understood it would be very inconvenient to send our unit back first, so they sent the new unit before requiring us to send in the old one. I was shocked that I did not wait at all when I called their customer service phone number. The new unit works great!

Greater than one weekThe night vision is great and picture quality is good! The monitor stays charged for awhile if the screen is turned off. Gave it 4 stars because I really wish you could put the screen to sleep and have it turn on automatically when baby cries.

> 3 dayI was recommended this product by a friend. I took their word and ordered it, We loved it, its worked wonderfully and even needed help from customer service due to a defect in the receiver. Customer service was kind, easy to contact and quick to take action and send a replacement. We loved the camera so much we ordered another. I especially like that you can flip from one camera to another with the touch of a button. BUT we are very disappointed to find out that you can not have 2 monitors at once. I bought 2 cameras and 2 monitors in hopes of not having to run around looking for the other monitor. Unfortunately the cameras can only be connected to ONE monitor at a time. Not so great if you have multiple floors. The night vision on this camera is IMPRESSIVE. If the room is pitch black you can turn the camera on and see.

Greater than one weekI liked this product until all the buttons on the monitor started glitching. Now some buttons don’t work and others work for the wrong things. Nothing happened to the monitor to make this problem occur. Very disappointed as I basically can’t use any of the buttons or even do the factory reset because I can’t get there.

> 3 dayI think that this is the best monitor by far out of all the monitors that I have bought. I love the zoom, rotating the camera via the parents monitor. However I have a few complaints. One of the main reasons I bought this was the noise reduction system it has on it and it works pretty well when I can use it. However I just set up a 2nd camera and when you have it in scan the monitor will tell you that the noise reduction system turns off and doesnt work. I cant begin to understand why they would advertise this point without telling people this unless I missed it but even if I did it doesnt make sense. The other issue I have is that when you are speaking through the monitor you have to let whoever you are speaking to count to 5 because there is a 5 second delay before someone can speak. I have to tell me kids to count to 5. Again this is ridiculous and should not be the case. The other issue I have and I think this is with all monitors is that when you are far away from whoever you are speaking to the parent monitor can at points cut out but by far this has been the best with overall experience. I believe if your going to charge someone the type of money that thus monitor is then it should not have at least the 5 second delay in which the party on the other side can speak but again I would think they would have also found a solution for still having noise reduction in scan mode.
