Easy replacement for my old 1 hp insinkerator. Much quieter. The 1 hp model is overkill unless you need to grind up bones and the like

Problem: if you direct wire, you CANNOT remove the attached plug. Seriously- the plug is not factory installed using a clamp system, but is a one-way push-in plug. I could NOT wrench it out. I removed the cover plate, but that did not provide access to the plugs fastrening, which appeared to be molded into the plug. I have tools, I have electrical knowledge. This thing is not to be undone. Sadly, I had the clamp from the previous hole, so I did NOT need the plug. Or the clamp. I needed the hole. After an hour of trying I could not get the plug wiring out of it! THe rest of the install was 20 minutes (I used books to support the unit during twist-on.) Now I have to meatball the existing house wiring into a receptacle.

This is a good device

Product works good. Amazon sent the wrong one i ordered with cord. They sent without i had to take the cord off the old one. Amazon wouldnt send just the cord.

New unit worked out great. I was able to pull out the old unit and pop the new unit in quickly without any issues.

Nice and quiet.. the last one we purchased its pretty loud. And it always sounded like it was straining to do anything even the smallest of jobs. This disposal here is great. Its quiet and it doesnt sound like its straining and it gets the job done easy and quickly. Hopefully it lasts a while but if I have to replace it Ill get another one..

Under sink

In my case we installed a garbage disposal where none had existed. This involved replacing all the plumbing from the sink drains to the sewer connection. That was because all the plumbing had been permanently glued together. I also had to install a switch and supply the garbage disposal with electricity.
