Our old one went out so we ordered this one . Took my husband 20 minutes and all did . Easy as 1,2,3. Very pleased .

Great price. The plumber that I use suggested that I find this particular model on Amazon. This model is the one that they offer to sell and install. This was $50 less expensive than what they charge for it.

I want to start by saying that though they say its a straight swap type of install with another InSinkErator, it wasnt quite that for me. While I was able to mount it on the existing sink drain flange, the units water outlet location is a little higher up. (The unit itself is smaller than the old model 77 it replaced.) The 90 degree outlet pipe they provided was shorter than the original, as that one had to be cut. That ones cut down size was the same as what they provide, so neither was quite reaching the junction enough to seal correctly. I only barely got it to work by loosening all the joints on the other side sink drain pipes and also the trap. I was then able to get to where the sealing collar is able to seal, but is right on the end of their 90 degree outlet pipe. I dont get why they dont send a slightly longer pipe. The receiving pipe being larger can take some of the excess length into it, or the pipe can be cut easily. Anyway, after install, I was impressed at the force this thing has! Im someone who doesnt put much down through the disposal, but being real old pipes, a mysterious buildup leads to a slow drain and clogs a couple times per year. A main thing I use the disposal for is using their downward thrust of pressure to break through these. Before I installed this, I had a clog. After install I put some drain cleaner down the non disposal side of the sink and let it sit overnight. I flushed with hot water. The clog was still solid. The water level in both sides was high and not budging for hours. So, I held the drain plug down on the other side of the sink and turned this thing on. I could feel just how much pressure this unit was pushing through. It has so much force, I could barely keep the plug held down! (More power than the previous 3/4 HP) Then the disposal side water level started going down! It cleared a very nasty clog and now the drain is clear flowing. As I say, I dont run the disposal much. It has been a week and all seems well. Ill update if anything changes.

Lets be honest, who in the hell has to replace a garbage disposal? These things basically last forever. Ive lived in four homes in my adult life and only one time I had to replace one. Its the kind of thing you just take for granted. So, when mine finally stopped working... I looked at the label and model number, called the company and they told me what the newest replacement model was. Was. I bought it here and had one of my handyman out to do other work and he said yeah. Ill install it for you. He literally unscrewed two bolts, disconnected the electricity from the wall, and twisted it. It. The old one came out, the new one went in, he plugged it in and charged me $35. I could have done this with my feet, drunk and blindfolded. Seriously, if you need a garbage disposal, this thing is amazing. Its incredibly powerful, almost silent, theyve come a long way since the 20-year-old one you probably are replacing.
